couldn't get fast passes for mine train - do they ever reamerge

We got chatting to a cast member who said the queue at new year to meet elsa was 6 hours. Thank god I have a son!

i thought they don't permit place holding in line

That was just one weekend at Easter in Epcot so maybe they stopped it but when we saw the queue it was probably 30 people and we were about to join it when a cm made us aware it was about 4 hours worth of families being represented by those 30 people and we left.

When A&E were at Epcot, they were positively encouraging one person to save the place in line while the rest of the party went off to enjoy the other attractions. When you joined the line, they would tell you approximately how long the wait would be based on the number of people in front of you (they were asking how many in each party as they joined the line) and tell you what sort of time the rest of the party needed to come back. I did feel a bit sorry for any single parents/adults who were in line with small children, as they obviously had no choice but to stand and wait.

As I understand it, with A&E in the location they are now, place holding would be more difficult as it's not as easy to rejoin the line as it was when the line was out in the open so I don't know if they still allow it.

I still can't believe quite how long the waits got - and still are - (even when we were there in mid March, by 9 am one morning, we arrived to be told it was over 4 hour wait).

To the person who commented about 'saying no, it's part of being a parent', we were there for my daughter's 21st Birthday. It was THE one thing she wanted to do on that trip and, as far as I'm concerned, part of being a parent is sometimes sacrificing your own enjoyment to make your children happy. I did talk her out of the 4 hour wait on the basis that we had more days that we could try again but, in the end, we still waited over 90 minutes to see them on the next day we tried. It was not my idea of fun but life is about compromise and I'm glad she got to see them, she was so happy.

i agree with you.
except for one thing, it's not sacrificing my enjoyment to make my children happy....that IS my enjoyment!!! :)

Why can't they run a meet & greet in Epcot & MK. Fortunately, our only character we ever seek out is Stitch and he is fairly easy to meet and spend time with.

But I do feel for those desperate to meet A&E and being given no choice but to wait.

- do the FP+ bookings work like dining where you can book for your vacation in one go or do you have to log in each day?

Yes, Zoe, if you are on site you can make FP+ for the length of your stay.

I was talking about queuing with toddlers. A 21 year old is not the same thing at all! I wouldn't expect you to be saying yes or no to a fully fledged adult. I imagine they can choose for themselves!

To me, it doesn't matter whether she is an adult or not. I would have (and have) done the same if my 11 year old wanted to do something that had a long wait too. It's about making sure that each member of the family gets the chance to do what they want to do :goodvibes

I think it really depends on the child. DD is a typical toddler and was rushing round full of excitement and wanted to do/see everything she saw. Megan had simply spotted the picture on the queue and wanted to see them. Instead we went to see Rapunzel as that is her favourite film and she was more than happy. Luckily I have a really easy going little girl. I'd pity the people stood next to us in the queue if my 18month old DS was made to queue for a princess :)

Had I thought that Megan would have been at all upset by not seeing them, then we would have waited or returned at rope drop. :)

Yes, Zoe, if you are on site you can make FP+ for the length of your stay.

Is that even if you are staying for more than 2 weeks? I had read somewhere that you could only book 2 weeks in one go, and then every day thereafter as it opened up, one after the other :confused3.

Does it make a difference if its a boy or girl? only having a boy I have no idea if I would have a different opinion with a girl.

I have always had a 20 min max for any line, although I broke my rule last Friday when I stood in line for 30 mins for 7DMT.:rotfl: I didn't think it was going to be so long.

Matt has always known that and never questioned it but going back time and time again he has always known he will get another chance either at rope drop or on another trip, I suppose its very different for anyone going on a one time trip with limited time.

Not sure about stays of more than 14 days, I know Zoe isn't staying that long onsite so I was responding directly to her. I have read different things, supposedly it is to do with the length of stay on site but, yes, like you I have seen reports that people staying longer than 14 days weren't able to make more than 14 days worth of FP+ online.

Thank you. I guess we'll have to wait and see. We are spending 18 nights onsite so it won't be too bad if we have to book day by day for the last few - well, I am saying that now, who knows by then :lmao:.
