Same here, and it has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with the trash those stations choose to air.

You're missing lots of good stuff shutting things out like this. I believe it has to do with intolerance and in many cases intolerance is based in racism, ageism, sexism. You can not change the world by shutting it out. True be that.

My Mom said the same thing about "Jesus Christ Superstar", The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Woodstock Album, David Bowie and on and on. She also said vegetarianism would never last and thought girls wearing blue jeans was just a fad. Generations and special interest groups will always have things they do not understand-phenomenon's created by entertainment groups, fashion, artists. OK to not like it, not ok to judge people because they do or don't. My issue is with those who say they are 'proud' to be against or for like it is some sort of superior brain movement OR that one TV station is bad because of SOME of it's programming. Where would FOX be without the Simpsons? and yet, many FOX fans would never watch shows such as The Simpsons or Family Guy. I personally hate the demeaning of women in the Rap industry and yet, I loved Sean Combs in "A Raisin In the Sun." These rap artists are multi-dimensional. We should encourage them to show us these other talents and contribute to society in other ways rather than just count them out.

I'm sorry. But if I want to listen to rap music I'm strickly old school. Run DMC, Intelligent Hoodlum, Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy. That was back when rap music meant something, had a purpose. Rap music today is noise to me, nothing but noise. I saw the Lil' Wayne clip on youtube. Because I knew what to expect by watching the BET awards. They lived up to there expectations in my book. I will never invest my money into a performer like that. That's my opinion, and I'm sticking with it!
