After dealing with a redness/bumps on my chest for a long time now and going through some treatments for it, I finally went back to the dermatologist this morning for the follow up.

He is now running the dreaded lupus test along with a CBC and complete Metabolic Panel. :bitelip: :bitelip: I'm scared!!!

Please send your good thoughts my way and hope that my "blood" is healthy!!!

Good luck!!! Lets hope he finds something simple and easy to treat!

Good Luck to you! I hope you get to the bottom of it finally! :grouphug:

Been there! I was diagnosed with "lupus LIKE" connective tissue disease. Do you have systemic symptoms or only the skin? GOOD LUCK!

Sending you some pixie dust for good results. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Keep us informed. :grouphug:

I don't know. But basically, I don't feel well most of the time and my chest and neck are very red all the time. Then I get itchy and some bumps. I am also very sensitive to the sun and flush easily. Could be rosacea, could be a host of other things. They aren't convinced I have lupus but thought they should at least check it all. It all makes me very nervous though.

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way :grouphug:

Prayers, (((hugs))) and Pixie Dust are coming your way. Please keep us posted.

Be aware that this test will usually always come back negative... even if a person does have Lupus. It usually takes years to diagnose.

I have had Lupus Flares, including the tell-tale butterfly rash.
I have all the classic symptoms..... unbeleivable chronic fatique and not feeling well.

I also have other diagnoses autoimmune diseases, like Hashimoto's and allergies.

But STILL, no positive test result for Lupus.

Yes, I have read this on the internet. I guess it will only show up if the lupus is REALLY BAD.

The doctor ran an ANA Titer, a Sjogrens antibody, a CBC w/differential, and a metabolic panel. I think there are actually several more, thorough, test that could/should be run but this is about as far as a dermatologist goes. I think that if we really suspect it, I will have to go to a rheumatoid arthritis doctor.

When do you expect your results? My dr. generally gets them in 2 days. Let us know.

I must have missed this thread on Friday. sorry! Still, pixiedust: !

I didn't realize it was hard to tack down. My doctor told me a few years ago she thought I had Lupus, but my blood test results were negative. I just assumed it meant I don't. I have Hashimoto's and arthritus too, along with some skin problems.

Is there a specific treatment for Lupus, or do you just treay symptoms when they flare?

Hard to say since this isn't my regular doctor. Usually my general physician and endocrinologist will call me back within a day or two after tests. This dermatologist, I just don't know about. Two months ago when I had my molees biopsied, they gave me a piece of paper stating that I had a biopsy that would be sent out to a lab and that I was to phone their office in *2 weeks* for the results. Now, I don't know if mole biopsies take longer, but I thought that was a long time!!

The worst part is that I know those results are probably sitting in their office today. I do know that the doctor that ordered my tests is not in today. I guess if I don't hear anything by Wednesday, I will call on Thursday. I hate the waiting.
