Could they extend hours???

I am finishing our planning of our adr's and park visits for our Aug/Sept vacation. On Friday, Sept. 4th, MK closes at 10pm. It seems kind of early for a Friday night and I was just wondering, if it's possible they might extend the closing til 11 or after? Does anyone know, if they were going to extend the closing time, if they would of done so by now? Do they usually change hours a month before/week before? Just wondering if it is a possibility? Thanks

When we were there in June, they extended hours while we were there.

Yep. They can extend hours at any time. We were there in early December and two weeks before we arrived they extended the hours at MK.

I can go farther than that.

Every month (every single month) for years and years, now, Disney has added hours and events to the listed schedule.
They will do so sometime between 7-60 days before the actual dates (and sometimes as late as the day-of.)
However, there is no guarantee on which dates or days that they will add the hours and/or events.

OK, thanks for the info. I just wasn't sure if they had to do it by a certain date. Does a 10pm closing seem early to you Dis experts? I think it seems early for a Friday night. Hoping they keep the park open til 11pm.

We will. E there the first week of November and right now MK is scheduled to close at 8 that Friday night. I am right there with you hoping for an hours increase.

An 8PM close sounds like a special event in the MK to me, so probably no extension.

Just to give you an idea, we're going next week. About 4 months ago they extended closing hours at several parks. About 2 weeks ago they extended a few more (AK and MK I think).

Keep in mind that Night of Joy is always in early September. And it is also the start of the "off-season" with fewer crowds. It is always possible for them to change their hours, but if the crowds are lower, it seems unlikely.

It's an 8 pm close on an EMH night that week, too...

On September fifth they are open late for EMH. That's probably not going to be extended on the 4th.

Not for September. End of August/beginning of September is one of the slowest times of the year, so park hours will be shorter.

WHAT IS IT? Night of Joy is an after-hours event in the Magic Kingdom that features contemporary Christian music. It requires a special ticket. Event hours are 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. each evening. While artists are performing at several stages, many popular Magic Kingdom attractions also are available for Night of Joy guests.

WHEN IS IT? The 33rd annual Night of Joy event will be held September 11 and 12 in the Magic Kingdom.

WHO IS PERFORMING? Here's the night-by-night Night of Joy 2015 lineup:

-- September 11: TobyMac, MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, Colton Dixon, Big Daddy Weave, Francesca Battistelli, Rend Collective, I Am They and Veridia

-- September 12: Skillet, Lecrae, For King & Country, Mandisa, Matt Maher, Jamie Grace, Capital Kings and Seventh Time Down

Back in 2013 we stayed at the Poly and were there for the first Night of Joy and could hear the music in our room from across the lake. Just something to consider in your plans if you will be there during that time.

This is not a special event. Mnsshp is over and the Christmas party doesn't start till the following Sunday. We are there the same time the first of November
