Could the 11/7 month booking windows be changed?

Seems like I remember reading in our member paperwork (legal stuff) that the window for booking our Home Resort priority could be changed to a one month lead. Am I dreaming or is it in there?

Yes, it is in there. But most members seem happy with the 11/7 window - and there appears to be no reason to expect or want a change at this time.

It could be changed to as little as one month for the home resort priority. A few years back DVC had a survey question about shortening the home resort prioritiy. It must have gotten negative feedback since they didn't make a change. So, it could happen but is not likely to occur.

Kinda of like the OKW pool slide survey???

:wave2:

Let's say(extremely unlikely, but you never know) in 5-7 years, there are 3 addtional DVC resorts built and available and all 4 including SSR contract till 2054. Would then be a time to introduce a 3rd booking window. Example for a BWV owner like myself

11 months - BWV-Home resort
8 months - BCV, OKW, HHI, VB, VWL
6 months - SSR, Eagle Pines, Villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Villas at Disney's Castaway Cay (Just dreaming :teeth: I've never been there and not sure if there's even enough land)

The 8 and 6 month vice-versa would be for the two sets of resorts and expiration dates
Let me know if this sounds fair or reasonable.

Peace,
G4L

No, I would not expect a third booking window. It would introduce needless complexity. And it would cause some DVC members to change their reservation each time a new window opens up, thereby increasing Member Services' costs. And I don't know if the paperwork would even allow such an arrangement.

I would continue to expect the current 4-month home resort booking advantage. As others have noted, our paperwork allows this window to shrink to 1 month. But there's really no reason for such a change.

gtrist4life,

I can see making an adjustment to bring a new resort online, but why would you think they would want to differentiate between the resorts beyond that?

I can't think of any reason why Disney would want to do that because it would not only make it more complex for the members, it would also make it more complex for Disney...

(Oh, while your dreaming--where are the Contemporary Resort Villas on that list? :) )

Yeah, the costs would probably increase dramatically with folks booking then changing.

Just wishful thinking on my part about the added resorts, it would be cool. dcfromva, I did consider in the 3 added, a monorail resort(I'd love to see one there too!), but chose AKL instead for the theming.

Peace, G4L:sunny:

Routeman and Laura -- I had the same thought about the "survey" but was afraid to even mention it. As I've said before, the "survey" is usually what DVC really wants to do and only overwhelming negatives stops them -- at least temporarily. ;)
