we made our way to the tram and to the car... as we were driving out of AK we noticed some cars ahead all swerving to the right and then saw something large in the road... as we got closer Danny realized it was a turtle trying to cross... 2 other cars stopped and so did we...(here at home we always stop when we see a turtle crossing the road and get out and pick it up and take it to the side in which they are headed) ... as Danny got out of the truck a man started to pick up the turtle. This turtle was large, about the size of the steering wheel, Danny noticed something in the road where the turtle had been, and about the same time that he figred out what it was he saw the turtle dropping another egg, and thankfully he was able to catch it before it hit the pavement... he scooped up the other 2 eggs out of the road. By now traffic was backed up a bit including a Disney resort bus. The bus drive hung her head out the window and told us to turn around and go to the entrance and they would tell us where to take the turtle... I put the eggs in a hand towel and about that time a car pulled up on the right shoulder. A CM from AK got out (Thank God) and asked how bad it was hurt? I told her it wasn't hurt but it was laying eggs. So she ran around to her passenger side and opened the door and I gave her the eggs first. Danny had gone to move the truck over to the side of the road. When the CM went to get the turtle from the man he said 'you take picture first!' the Cm tried to explain he needed to move his car so traffic could start moving... he handed her his camera 'you take picture first' and he held the turtle up and kissed it I was thinking...for real??? so she took the pic and he gave her the turtle and she put it on her floorboard. I walked back to our truck and we headed back to the hotel... it was kinda neat saving that turtle
we had a 6pm adr at House of Blues in DTD so we left a bit early just in case it took a while to find a parking spot. We were parked by 5:25 so we walked around a bit...
we checked in at House of Blues at 5:50 and were sat about 5 minutes later. this was our first time eating here. I had a chicken sandwich (grilled) and Danny had a BBQ Burger. We both had coke and danny had a couple Corona Lites. We also bought a hurricane glass and a shot glass for Stephanie. Our total was $55.49 and I had a $25. gift cert. that I had purchased for $5. so our total was $30.49
we both enjoyed dinner at HOB and will definately eat there again....
after we left DTD we went to Magic Kingdom for a few hours. I t was open late so we figured what the heck...we arrived just before 9pm
the weather was crisp and clear...
we snapped a couple pics on the way down Main Street
so even though it's not quite 10:30 when we get to the exit the place was wall to wall people. We started for the monorail but the decided to take thye boat across instead.... BAD idea.... because of the fog the boats weren't running, so we turned back around to the monorail. we took the resort one since we were already outside the park gates...by now the line was all the way down to the end of the ramp
the line for the other monorail was at least twice as long. Ours moved pretty fast considering the amount of people. We were on ours in about 20 minutes. and back at our hotel by about 11:15
since it was our last night here I took a few pics of the lobby and morning dining area...
we packed up most everything the night before and Danny carried some of it down to the truck so he would have less to do in the morning...
we left the hotel and arrived at Coronado Springs at about 9:30. The sky was cloudy and the air was cold today. When we walked inside there were quite a few guests in the lines for check/in/out. I think more were leaving than arriving at that time of the morning. I had done online checkin for this resort about a week before. After about 5 minutes we were at the front of the line and called to a CM. We told him we were checking in and danny gave him his ID. The guy typed it in and waited... typed it in again and waited.... can you guess what he said next??? YEP..."could that reservation be under a different name?" I'm thinking 'are you serious?!? REALLY?!? He tried again...and asked again. So I tell him, uhm, we did online checkin so I know or it's there. He looked at me and said "are you sure it's not under a different name?" I just smiled and got out my online checkin paper. He looked at it....typed some more.... and still couldn't find it. Now Danny was rolling his eyes and i'm sure biting his tongue, but he didn't lose his cool... the guy says' let me try this....typed....says "the computer is working slow this morning.....and finally...'oh, here it is" prints our cards and says your room is ready. So he shows us our room is in Casitas. OK now Danny is NOT happy. We love , always ask for, and have always gotten Cabanas 9A or 8B. And it was written on the confirmation we received in the mail as well as the note for my 50th birthday. So Danny wants to know if there is something is Cabanas? the CM says possibly but the room wouldn't be ready yet. So I said we would take the room given to us and see if it was ok. So we got our room keys and left.
this was the only picture I snapped this morning in the lobby
So we went to the car and found our way around to Casitas 4, grabbed some luggage and found our room. It was on the top floor so that was the only part of our request that we got.
Danny brought up the luggage while I was decorating the window. Originaly I was going to bring our Disney travel Christmas tree, but to be honest once we had Dixie put to sleep, my heart just wasn't into it so I didn't even bring it. So once we were settled into the room we headed to Animal Kingdom.
we walked while we decided what to have for lunch...I talked Danny into trying something new we decided on Yak & Yeti counter service. Danny ordered the Asian Chicken Sandwich, I had the Honey Chicken, we both had chocolate cake and I had coke while Danny ordered sprite. Our total would have been $34.45We found a seat at a table against the wall to block the breeze at it was downright cold out. We shared our food which was ok. Danny didn't care for his sandwich (we had both assumed that it was a piece of chicken) and it wasn't; it was shredded chicken salad and Danny doesn't like anything with mayo. So I ate most of his (I just used a fork and ate the chicken out of the bread. I ate some of the honey chicken and gave the rest to Danny. It was ok but not real warm and all the honey was at the bottem with the rice. I doubt we will eat here again.
We had gotten FP's for the Kilimanjaro Safari before we ate so we headed back that way. Took these along the way
