I am planning a vow renewal for 2008. It is either going to be in April or December. The pros and cons of that and your opinion is welcome.

The other question is this, at the Sunset Pointe location the website says it can only accomodate 10, is this for the ceremony or the reception as well, also, where is the reception held?? Are they definite on the 10?

I would also like to know if anyone could tell what they had to come oop for that was not included in the price of the intimate package.

Any help or advice is welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Kim

PS: Also, if you use and outside photographer, can you use the Disney at the same time, and if not do they credit you anything towards your pkg??

I don't know the answer to you questions, as I have just started planning my intimate for sunset pointe for January 08. When I spoke to Amy at dftw the other day she said that the maximum that sunset pointe would hold is 10, and if my guest list grew above that, we would have to move. So, I am assuming that is for the ceremony and reception.

I think you have chosen 2 wonderful months and beautiful times of the year to have your VR. I think the pros for both are that it should be less crowded because school isn't out yet, depending on your dates in those months. April is, truly, beautiful in Florida and I love it. I think the Flower and Garden Festival begins around the end of April, so you should definitely get some breath-taking photos, in Epcot, during your VR/reception. What can I say about December??? Disney transforms into a magical, winter wonderland during the holidays, your guests will be floored and your wedding will certainly be talked about for decades to come. So there you have it, April at Disney will capture all that Spring should be, with the most beautiful flowers and rose gardens; A Disney Winter is nothing like you'll ever experience at anyone's wedding-unless, of course, they also have a DFTW in December ;)

The downside is the heat and humidity in April. I have lived in FL for 4 years and I really don't think December gets very cold and rather enjoy the temperatures, most of the month. It can get a bit chilly at night, though.

I don't know the answers to your other questions, since I'm a custom bride and haven't, actually, looked over the info. for intimate brides. But, I'm sure someone will chime in and help you with those answers.

:tinker: Good Luck and Happy Planning.

Good points on the dates!! Thank you

I live in Florida too, but the northern part, I was wondering about December in Orlando, does it get very cold, I am planning a strapless gown ??

Thanks again

Kim

I think the only things not included in the price of the intimate package are the 4 night minimum stay at a Disney resort and the fee for the officiant.

We went with an outside photographer and were told they don't allow you to use both. Instead, they offered us the Honeymoon Photo Session. It was no extra charge to have the photo shoot at Magic Kingdom or $50 to have it at one of the other parks.

Hope that helps! :goodvibes

IMO ANY time of year at Disney is a great time!;)

Yes, the 10 is definite for your ceremony and reception. Sunset Pointe is on a bit of a hill/slope and I guess they've had some safety issues/concerns. For almost all intimate ceremonies, the "reception" is held at the ceremony site. With the exception of the Wedding Pavilion, the reception for that is held at the Captains Terrace, I believe. And remember that 10 INCLUDES you and your DH.

I would also like to know if anyone could tell what they had to come oop for that was not included in the price of the intimate package.

If you decide to use Disney for your pictures, I would HIGHLY recommend pre-purchasing your proofs!! It's an additional cost of about $250 (it was $225 for me, but that might have changed).

Icats is right about the rest, you still have to book your own resort, and get park tickets, and pay for the officiant.

Hope that helps!!

Thank you for the replies,

Just out of curiosity how do you figure out where to find an officiant and how much does it run??

I would also like to know if anyone could tell me about Disney cosmetology, if they were any good and a price figure, if there is anyone out there that knows how to contact them I would appreciate that too.

Thanks
Kim

When you get all the preliminary information from Disney, they will provide you a sheet with contact information for several officiants who have done Disney weddings. You contact them and coordinate that part of your wedding. For an intimate, I think it runs about $150.

If I remember correctly, Disney cosmetology is no more. They stopped doing that sometime in 2006. Several brides have used other services and they can give you more info on that!!
