Could Someone Help Clarify the 240 Day Rule?

So here is our situation.
My mom (cancer patient, affects her bones and joints) was granted DAS in July 2024. We are going again in March, which is within the 240 days.
We zoomed today with an agent that said that it was now 180 days and her DAS is no longer valid and she went on to say that it should not have been given in July, either.

So my questions are:
1. Is it 240 or 180 days?
2. If we had it in July, and it's 240 days, should we still have the pass?
3. And is it worth it to try again in a few days with a different cast member?

Just trying to understand all the changes and the rules of the new policy.

Thank you!

DAS is good for either the length of ticket or 240 days (240 days is for annual pass I'd assume) whichever comes first.

I'm no expert but I would have thought that this would not have qualified in July 2024.
It may have qualified prior to the May 2024 changes.
So I would not think that it would qualify now.
I say this because seems like it would be a mobility issue meaning she could use a walker or wheelchair to navigate so that she could wait in the traditional standby line.

If she qualified in July 2024 it WAS 180 days from that trip with an AP.

Starting sometime this past fall (late Oct maybe?) it changed to 240 days with an AP, but only on a go-forward basis not retro to prior approvals.

Without an AP the DAS is only valid for length of ticket.

If they say she no longer qualifies for DAS did the CM explain the alternate accommodations? Just from what you mentioned above it doesn’t sound like she qualifies for DAS. Can she use a wheelchair or other mobility device to help?

3. Your account could be flagged as having previously been denied. This doesn't mean they won't talk to you, but it does mean you need to be ready to explain everything again and especially explain whatever it was that you failed to say in the initial call that you want Disney to take into account. If you said everything, I would not call again at this stage as there are rumored limits as to how many times you can request DAS over a time period thanks to abusers early on who called repeatedly trying to get a different CMs to say yes.

Personally, I would plan for the park without it & try the alternatives/LLs/whatever your Plan B is. Then, if that doesn't work out you can place a second call at the park and explain why the alternatives are not working out and ask for a re-consideration.

Thank you to all that replied.
I didn't understand the 240/120 day period and AP's.
They did explain that mom can step out of line and meet us back up when she's able to.

Not sure why she was granted it for our July trip (which we were grateful for).

Thank you all again.

When applying for the DAS if you do agin. Do not focuse on the physical side of thing as that will almost always be an automatic denial but on the psychological side if things
