Could someone compare Dolphin to Renaissance Seaworld?

We will be driving down for Easter. We are planning on doing Disney parks 2 days, Seaworld one day, and BB and TL the other days.

I can get the Dolphin for $129 and I "THINK" Renaissance Seaworld for $70 on Priceline.

I was thinking of doing Dolphin for 4 nights and then move over to Renaissance for 2 nights, but if I can get that better rate at Renaissance I will try and get it for 4 nights. (I was thinking Dolphin would be alright for 2 nights since we only plan on doing Disney parks for 2 days, we could drive to BB and TL from Renaissance the other days.)

I am under the impression that Renaissance is the better hotel, am I correct?

Does Dolphin have the better pool area?

I have stayed at both the Dolphin and the Renaissance Sea World and I slightly prefer the Renaissance. Both are nice with large pools, but the Dolphin's pool would be better.

The Renaissance has limited restaurant choices (a snack bar in the lobby, a restaurant, and room service) while the Dolphin has more restaurants to choose from. The Dolphin is a larger hotel. Somehow I got turned around all the time and would get lost going to my room!

If you can get the Renaissance for $70 on priceline, that's a very good deal, but it's still a bit of a drive to BB and TL. Sea World's parking lot is directly across the street from the Renaissance, so a trip to Sea World is highly suggested!

I'd think about splitting it up with 3 days at each. Whatever you decide, either place should be great for the prices you listed! Have fun.

I wanted to stay a hotel near Seaworld since I plan I going there for 1 day before I go to WDW. I originally wanted to stay at the Renaissance, but then I saw the Portofino and wanted to try that for 1 night. Do you think that stay at the Renaissance would make much more sense? Or do you think that it is not that much of a difference??

For just one night, I think the Renaissance makes more sense. Sea World's entrance gate is just a walk across the street and through Sea World's parking lot.

Portofino is at Universal so you would have to mess with I-Drive traffic to and from Sea World plus pay the $7 or $8 parking fee.

I got the SWAN on Hotwire for $81 so i would check on priceline to see if they are offering something close .. Michelle
