I'm going to POR in september and in past years I have Checked how busy the resort will be by trying to book a room online. If there is still most of the room options available (ie. standard room, waterview, etc.) then I fell comfotable that the resort wont be too busy. In past years this has worked, however if I try and book a room for POR now I'm told there is no rooms available.

Could this be possible?

Is anyone elses resort full?

POR was the first resort to fill with free dining... I ended up booking CBR instead... PoR ended up becoming available so I booked... Now my husband really wants to do CBR and now I can't get it... I think most of resorts are booked up because of free dining. :(

Keep checking more than likely rooms will open up as people change their plans and change resorts. Good Luck!

My understanding is that they only hold a set amount of rooms at the resort for free dining and it says the resort is full even without applying free dining.

I'm not trying to book a room, I already have one. I'm just trying to gauge how busy the resort will be by how many rooms are still available to book.:)

I am on right now and both POR and CBR are available. Not sure when you are going but they must have added more rooms because they were not available prior to now. Keep checking!!!

That would be an accurate gauge, if all of the rooms available at the resort were listed on the Disney site. :)

What you're not seeing are room blocks that were sold to companies like Expedia and Travelocity, room blocks booked by groups or conventions, etc.

So you really can't tell how much inventory is still out there.

A CM told me the other day when I called about POR, that it has become one of their most popular resorts over the past year and was staying booked. Not sure how much stock to put in this.

That's a good call, I never thought of that. Lets hope they didn't sell them all.
I go in september almost every year and I've never seen a resort total full, usually the resorts are pretty quiet. Thanks!:cool2:

Lets hope they're exaggerating.

It looks like it is only the 12th that is full. If you change the arrival date to the 13th, it shows almost all room types available. I sometimes play this game myself, trying to gauge our resort's crowd level. I don't know how accurate it ever is, but it gives me another way to keep thinking about our trip.;)

I've been doing the same thing you are, except for the Poly in September. Some Poly people with reservations are being called and asked to move because of overbooking and I wanted to see what options are available to me. Anyway, I noticed a quirky thing about the Disney website. When I go to search for rooms available for my date it will show openings in the first two or three resorts I search and then it will show all the rest do not have any rooms available. However, if I sign out and go right back in and search the same resorts that just showed no rooms, they will come up as available (at least the first two or three) and then all other resorts will show up as unavailable. Not sure why this happens and I just noticed this yesterday.

We were at POR the last week in July. It was 90% full. There was a very large crowd for breakfast, but they opened up additional seating in Boatwright's.

The rest of the activities, etc - including the pools - were the same as if 50% full. We didn't feel that we were overrun with people at all. POR is a spacious resort with lots of room for everyone.

The bus situation was unbelievably calm & totally organized. We had #4 AND 5 at the bus depots. (FQ had #6) The line moved quite well, and we felt comfortable with the number of people.

POR somehow handles everything without issues.
It's a GREAT resort! :goodvibes

You're right, I tried that and most rooms are available. Weird. I do it for the same reason you do. :thumbsup2
