14 of us going mid-August & we could not get reservations at LeCellier. We made ressies for Restaurant Marrakesh instead.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Change it. I know some will disagree, but DH & I really didn't not like Marrakesh. We loved Le Cellier. They don't even compare to each other, IMO. Since you couldn't get Le Cellier, I would suggest maybe Biergarten, or San Angel.

I agree that the two restaurants are nothing alike, but we really like Marrakesh. I love the beef brewats (app), and beef kabob (although the lemon chicken is great too). Both entrees come with vegetable couscous, another favorite!

I second the San Angel or Biergarten suggestion. But it's all up to personal tastes. :teeth:

We all loved Marakeesh -- Jiko and Marakeesh are our 2 favs. That said, kids did not even try the food. We usually travel with my DS and DBIL who travel worldwide and they love this restaurant -- they hated Crystal Palace ( I liked that too) -- maybe I'm just not hard to please. Look at the menu at allears.net-- if you haven't. That has been helping me pick out my TS for next trip.

I love Marrakesh, but it is a different atmosphere from Le Cellier! I find it a cool change of pace from most Disney restaurants. Choose your time so that you see the belly dancer and hear the musicians play!

With 14 people, you could get the various tasting menus and have a blast. The less daring can stick to the very tasty kabobs, and the more adventurous can try a little bit of everything.

We really like Marrakesh, but as you can see, some do not. It is very different than Le Cellier, but actually, we like it better. Le Cellier is just another steak restaurant to us, Marrakesh is an experience. You can look at a menu here http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_mor.htm

It is a little more exotic than most food you find at WDW, but it is tame and Americanized compared to authentic Moroccan cuisine. The restaurant is beautiful and the music and belly dancer are nice entertainment.

If you don't think Marrakesh will please your crowd, the Biergarten in Germany is more traditional food-wise and also has entertainment. It's a lot of fun with a big group.

Enjoy!

We love it. It is our, we don't have an ADR, or don't feel like leaving Epcot to go make it (yes we cancel) restaurant. The food is not overly exotic, but is a little different.
Don't get me wrong, we like Le Cellier better (but, like, I have to eat filet again??) but it is a good choice.

We really liked Marrakesh. There were 2 adults and 3 kids. The food for the kids was typical, spagettii, chicken, etc. The adults had a great time!!! The food was different and quite good. We each got a different platter and tried everything. The resturant was not crowded, only five other tables when we enterd, maybe 20 when we got ready to leave. The entertainment was nice as the kids in the audience were brought into the act. The bellydancer was very good and good with the kids. The atmosphere was very interesting to look over. Am going again in August and have plans to go to Marrakesh again. I would say, go, and try it. pixiedust:
