use them to buy APs? I'm trying to start putting money aside towards our next trip, but it seems I never do unless I purchase something. Plus, our next trip is not until next year, so maybe I can get a DC discount if I buy the gift cards now. Oh, I also love the classic pooh one!

You may need to check with your local DS. There seems to be some differences in policy from one store to the next. It sounds like a great idea if you can do it. Otherwise, consider buying Disney Dollars every month.

Will I be charged tax or shipping when ordering a Disney Gift Card?
Since the Disney Gift Card is just like cash, you will not be charged tax when ordering a Disney Gift Card. There is no shipping charge for Disney Gift Cards, unless you send a Disney Gift Card using our Express Shipping method, then the standard Express Shipping charge will apply.

Will any discounts apply when I purchase a Disney Gift Card?
Disney Gift Cards are considered as cash and therefore discounts do not apply.

I'd suggest either buying Disney Dollars or opening a special savings account....mine has both a "vacation club" and a "Christmas club"

The reason you cannot get a discount when buying gift cards or Disney Dollars is becuase you can get a discount when purchasing with same.

I was told told at our local store that DS gift Cards could not be used to buy passes. I was actually thinkg about doing the same thing, just stopping in periodically and putting $10 or whatever on a gift card. But when I asked about this, I was told the gift card couldn't be used for passes - it could vary store to store, but over the long run, who wants to take the chance!

I would suggest getting Disney Dollars and then when you have enough, purchase a pass and put it away. And everyone else is right, no DC discount when purchasing Disney Dollars.

Why not just purchase the APs, one at a time with your DC? They will send you green voucher cards that you will activate once at WDW. Buying ahead is the only way to get the DC discount, anyway, if I'm not mistaken. Someone correct me if I am.

I read somewhere (and I don't know if it is accurate or not), that the AP's had changed and now were activated at purchase and not arrival. Make sure you verify this prior to purchasing your pass so that you don't end up with half the year gone before you get there!
