Could I have some PD for my DH?

Yesterday, 15 people in his division were laid off/fired/whatever you want to call it.

He was saddened because they were his friends/colleagues/workmates.

His boss told him that his company has one more day (today) and then the next round of layoffs will be Jan 4th-5th.


He still has his job, but that unknown fear is creeping in. His division (tech support) is very very busy, and there are four people hired after him. He is the supervisor, so that could go either way...


Anyway, if you can think good thoughts for him today, I would appreciate it!

I can relate. 8 years ago my DH was let go from his company after 17 years It was horrible at the time and I remember the fear each day as he came home.
I must say that in the end, he ended up better off, with a better job.

Prayers and PD for your DH. It was a pleasure meeting him at Barb's this summer. I can understand how he would be upset for his co-workers' situations as he seems to be a compasionate and caring person.

We knew it was good when he could log in to the network this morning....


So, if anything, Jan 4-5th.. but its tricky, there are about 12-14 in the tech support area. He is the support supervisor, but a boss over him/rest of team, and a VP. There are about 4 people hired after him.

Since he is the supervisor, he obviously get paid more , but does more work... would they get rid of the supervisor, or the tech employees that have gotten hired later, and don't do as much work?


It hurts to see him sad that they let his friends go.

I'm praying that he'll be able to keep his job, or that God will send him a new job before January if that's not possible. I know just what you're going through. DH is a techie, and I was when I worked, and it can be very hard to keep a job right now no matter how hard you work and how valuable you are. DH has been laid off more times than both of my parents put together, and he's only been working full-time for about 4 years.
