I am normally not one to ask, but one of my friends is going through a situation that could use as many good thoughts as possible.
She had a baby, Jackie, on February 28, and Jackie is STILL in the hospital. I don't quite understand the whole thing, but basically Jackie is unable to digest food. She has already gone through several surgeries since she was born. Apparently she needs a liver transplant and I think some kind of intestine transplant as well (needs to be done at the same time). At first, the doctors thought they could do some surgery now, and then wait until she's 2-3 years old for the transplant, but now they're saying it needs to be done now, or her life could be in jeopardy. Friend and Jackie are leaving today for California in hopes of awaiting a transplant. From what another friend told me, if Jackie does not receive the transplant, she will not survive.
In addition to this, my friend is absolutely one of the most bubbly and positive people I know, and NEVER complains. She has been "fighting" (although she does not call it that) with insurance companies to get the procedures covered, and they finally agreed.
While I am not a very spiritual person, I do believe that good thoughts help people, and this is a situation that I believe needs as many good thoughts, and for those of you who pray, prayers, as possible.
