Could experts makeover someones personality?

You have likely seen all the makeover shows on TV. The impression is that if someone spends $100,000 in plastic surgery and lose all kinds of weight-- then you will have a new person and they will live happily ever after.

I have a relative that definitely looks like someone in the before phase of the Extreme makeover show. Plastic surgery, makeup, a new hair style is possible-- but I am interested in knowing if her personality could be made over also. She is a good person but totally without any communication skills, self confidence, or ability to carry on a regular conversation. There is a inner sadness to her and add an incrediblely poor childhood and lack of self confidence and you have a extremely ill at ease personality.

If we invested the $100,000 in this persons inner self (communication skills, etc), could they be made over and live a good life. Maybe hire Anthony Robbins (the self help guru) , a Dale Carnegie trainer, and a variety of experts to work on the inner person to bring her out of her shell and into the world.

I have the money and wonder if experts would really be able to help by relative!

Sure, pop for it, see if it works. If it doesn't, at least you will feel good having tried by spending a few bucks on her. And she will look good on the outside.

I love Tony Robbins. I listened to him through school, if i was having trouble in a class, and it worked for me to get me through it.

That might work, instead of changing their outside. But, I really think that if a person really wants to change their apperance, and come out looking better, they will have more self confidence.

I think that if you are more confidant about your looks, then you are more likely to strike up a conversation, smile more, be more open to talking.

So I believe that one directly affects the other.
