Could DVC be sold? And if yes, what could happen?

Where is this timeshare abroad?

I mentioned this sceanrio to hubby last night thinking he wodul get worked up, but instead was liek Marriotts are nice! :p
I explained to him my worry about after our booking window was gone it woudl open to other Marriott owners, thus making it really hard to stay elsewhere other than our hoem resort and casuing us to have to book always far advance and not bieng able to chnage dates cause there woudln't be availabilty. His response? "You message board guys are crafty. You'll come up with soem complex trading sysytem on your own!" LOL So it appears he isn't too worried about never staying at his beloved VWL since we own at BCV. Good thing - I guess since BCV is so small, close to Epcot and has SAB it might have good trading power down the road...

Ya, know I just thought about a couple otehr things that coudl add soem questiosn into the mix.

For one, so many of us have smaller contracts split up at the differnet DVC resorts. If what I fera about us hvaing a shorter window happens and Mariott owners are thrown into the mix, it coudl really get hard for soem DVC owners to book complete vacations.

And littlestar mentioend soemthing to me that also makes me wonder...
OKW, BWV (sorta) and SSR are really on their own. But VWL and BCV are really littel additions to already exsisiting Disney resorts. Think thsi wodul amke any difference in them being sold? Or if DVC was sold it wodul be the whoel lot?

Shan,

The timeshare operated by Marriott is at Disneyland Paris.

Again, if any sort of DVC sales with Marriott takes place, IMO, it would also include ownership/management for the regular Disney resorts as well... in a sense keeping the the "attached" DVC resorts operating in conjunction with their respective regular Disney resorts.

In that case Chuck, do you or anyone else think that complete Disney vacation feel will still be there? I wonder if the resorts wodul change any as far as Disney references, merchandise, transporation, travel packages, etc?

I've never stayed at Swan or Dolphin. What is it liek there? Do you still feel Disney submerged?

Likely, character "licenses" would be part of any deal. Especially since so many of the the resorts have "hidden" characters like the railings at OKW. It would be too expensive to change the architecture. As far as CMs, since the existing CMs are trained and familiar with their respective resorts, they would likely be absorbed into any new company.
