Could anyone help me with a tip for carrying pills?

My DD has to take medication twice a day. Here at home we use a "days of the week" dispenser that works great. At WDW she'll take her first 2 pills in the am before we leave CBR, but the second 2 will need to be carried in her fanny pack.

Any tips on what to put these 2 pills in? They're small, about the size of two Tylenol tablets. Thanks for any suggestions!

My DD has a little pillbox with a Wizard of Oz picture on it (she's a big collector of everything Oz!). I got it from QVC a while back but they also had them at the Warner Bros. Store. They might even have one at the Disney Store. It's only 2-3 inches across. Maybe a drugstore would have a less expensive one. Good luck!

Buy a plastic "purse size" pill box made specifically for this. They are about a dollar and are usually sold in the pharmacy department at places like Walmart, K-Mart or Target. They are usually near the medicine spoons or droppers, where the daily and weekly pillholders are kept.

I was going to say to use a pill box or an old Tylenol bottle or something, but on second thought, if they're prescription medications for anything somewhat major, you should carry them in the original bottle from the drug store. A trip to WDW is hard on your body, and anyone can get overly tired and sick. It's good to have your prescriptions with you so that you can tell a doctor exactly what she takes and how many milograms in the event of an emergency. It's not likely to happen, but better safe than sorry.

Just keep the pill bottles in your fanny pack or back pack. If they come in really big bottles, ask the drug store to divide the prescription into smaller bottles next time. They usually do that if you ask.

How about an empty film canister?

I heard (I think on this board) that you shouldn't put pills or any kind of food in film canisters because the canisters contain small amounts of chemical residue. It was suggested to use those little tubes that mini M&Ms come in.

I have to agree not to put anything that will go into your mouth in a film canister.
When you refill the prescription the next time, ask the phamacist to make you up a small empty bottle. The pharmacy can just print up an extra label and put it on the smallest bottle that they have available. When I worked as a school nurse, we used to request parents do this for doses of medication to be given at school. It was no problem for the pharmacy to do.

I keep an old pill container and put the days pills in it. Takes up very little room.

I have built what might be called the world's biggest vacation key chain. On it are 2 metal pill vials. These are designed for Nitro pills and totally seal out water. I keep 3 Tylenol gelcaps in one Lometil in the other.
Found mine at a larger pharmacy.

I will definitely find a small pillbox to bring (all my trips to the pharmacy and buying two different "weekly pill dispensers", but it's that "if you're not looking you don't see it" syndrome!LOL!). And thanks to the GREAT advice here, I will also bring her original pill bottle with the Rx info on it, in case of emergency. A truly invaluable piece of advice, that I am humbly grateful for!
