Could a 13 yo do a younger kids club?

DSD would likely be as interested or more interested in the kids club activities for the 10-12 yo age group rather than hanging out all the time (or at all?) at Common Grounds. Do they ever let older kids (she would have just turned 13 a few months before) into younger kids programming? (I'm assuming the answer is no, but I wanted to ask after I saw some of the 10-12 yo activities that I know she would love).

We will be sailing in November with my dd who will have just turned 13 in Sept. When we sailed in Jan, I asked if she could still be in the Club, as I was concerned with her being with the "teens". The Club CM's told me it would be no problem to move DOWN an age group, but they would hestitate to allow kids to move UP an age group.

Oh....I was hoping that might be the answer!!! Have others gotten a similar answer or had any experience with this?

I had a friend who had a similiar situation. It isn't a problem to move down to the 10 - 12 club, but he/she would have to remain there. Meaning they couldn't go to Common Ground at all and would have to be in the 10 - 12 club for the whole cruise. She didn't have a problem with it and actually preferred her 13 year old with the younger kids rather than the older ones.

This is exactly what I was told this past May. They much prefer moving a child down than up. However, if the child is unhappy and wants to move up after at least trying the club in his/her own age group they will try it on a "trial" basis. This is what CM told me. HTH

Lisa...That is exactly right. They OK'd moving my 6 yr old DD to the 8-9 group on a trial basis as she was bored with the evening activities, ( movies and closet dress up time)and if she couldn't keep up then they would have to put her back down.
