My DD 12 & 14 want to do Chef Mickeys. Do you think they would be allowed to dine without an adult? They are on the meal plan. I was thinking of booking the Wave or California Grill at the same time for DH & I.

The only reason they want to eat at CM is the Ice Cream bar.

I say YES- they are adults in Disney's eyes- Adult ticket prices, Adult meal prices. If you think they are mature enough to handle it, I would do it.

I like your answer:thumbsup2 DH & I really do not want to eat at CM. I used to love it when they were younger.

I really have no idea. It doesn't sound like an unreasonable request to me if you think your kids are mature enough to dine on their own, which I'd expect most 12 and 14 year olds able to do.

But if you need some ammunition if you're told 'no', Disney considers your kids to be adults when they take your money for park tickets, or the DDP. (Looks like Abharmagic beat me to this point)

Good luck,

GB

My kids have gone and gotten CS by themselves quite a few times and never had an issue (with DDP & without, at resorts and in parks). They've gone to Epcot by themselves, so why not a restaurant? Never tried/considered TS, but I don't blame you for not wanting to go to CM's

If you think they're up to it, I don't see a problem. I'd mention it when I called to make the ADR, more for the issue of 2 ADR's for the same time.

I don't know the answer from Disney's eyes, but my only question is: will you be staying at the Contemporary? I only ask because our dinners at CG have lingered into the 2.5-3hr time period and I can't see the kids staying at CM's that long. I would have a game plan for somewhere they could go when they are done.

It never occurred to me that my 14 & 15 yo DD & DS might not be able to eat alone. My boyfriend and I are doing a romantic dinner at Bistro de Paris and I was going to let the kids go back to the park of their choosing to ride and eat. We are on the DxDP. Curious now to see what people think.

Maybe you would want to be there when they check in so the hostess and server knows these kids aren't going to try a "dine and dash." I think they would be less inclined (if they were at all) to deny them a table by themselves if you checked them into their reservation.

We are staying at the CBR. I think I will pass on CG & do the Wave. Thanks for that tip. I have not eaten at CG.....because I have kids:rotfl:

They would make me do that & I am planning on it. The funny thing is DD 11 now has no problem with this. The 13 year old is like your leaving us alone:scared1: BUT they want me to let them go in the park alone.

I think if you check in with the host station and let them know, and your kids have a way to get ahold of you if needed, I can't imagine why anyone would say no.
