Cougar Town promos - enough with the wine already!

Regarding the title - the first season, Courtney cox's character was a cougar, dating younger men. Then when she started dating her neighbor, all that went out the window.

I liked the first couple of seasons OK enough, but then it started going downhill for me. Now it's just stupid IMO. I won't be watching on it's new channel.

I doubt that it's just people who don't drink who don't get the ad, though. You can like wine and still think that an ad with people just throwing it on each other is kind of dumb. The point of an ad it to entice people to try something. If the ad comes off as largely unappealing for whatever reason, then it isn't working.

Yeah, I drink plenty of wine, so it's not the wine I'm bugged by. It's the fact that every promo emphasizes the fact that they drink wine. There's one where the blonde girl drinks wine while Courteney Cox explains the show, there's one where they are all drinking wine while singing a song, there's one where Courteney Cox makes the TBS logo into a wine glass, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. It just makes me think there's not much else to this show, so they focus on the wine. Others have commented that's not the case, but the people who are doing the promos sure make it seem that way.

I love me some wine. I often prefer a nice pinot noir or a shiraz, but rediscovered my love for the whites during my most recent trip to Epcot. I have a glass of wine a night. Love that wine. Don't get the promos. They seem to only emphasize wine drinking. I have no interest in watching a sitcom that is all about wine and seems to have nothing else going on. Now a show on Food Network that is dedicated to wine around the world... whole other story.

I like wine. I don't like the promos for Cougartown. I fiind them annoying and they do not make me want to watch the show at all! Nothing against the wine drinking - the promos overall just grate on my nerves...

Because there is definitely a needy family out there that needs tons of wine - or, rather, water with purple food coloring.

You all need to lighten up. Can't believe how seriously people are taking this.mits a freaking commercial. I've only seen a few episodes, but if anybody actually bothered to watch the show, the ads make peect sense by playing on one of the show's recurring inside joke.

Well it seems if you think drinking wine is a problem you won't enjoy the show anyway? I miss the old Dis group who used to "drink" here - they were hilarious and a lot of fun.

I like the show and was sorry it was cancelled. DH doesn't "get it."

Network dropped it, TBS picked it up. New season apparently starts fairly soon if IIRC from the ads. I've never watched it.

I must watch too much TBS because I nearly have these promos memorized, I do have a Big Bang addiction!

We can always start a new one. I've tried with little success, but maybe you will have better luck. After all, it's five o'clock somewhere!
