Did W6D1 last night and had to stop during the 8 min run and walk for about 2 min. I don't know what happened, but I felt like I had not done 5 weeks.

And just for the sake of asking. What, if anything, do you guys do the other four days each week? Weights? Ride a bike? Zumba? I used to walk five days a week and I think I might need to add in another couple days of working out, but don't want to walk. What else do you all enjoy?

Maybe on Thursday. I called and she wants me to take more sudafed and do neti pots (which I HATE) because she thinks I have a blocked eustation tube.
does that mean you have to wait till it becomes something far worse? Hope the neti pots work for you!I had to do that on W5D2, I didn't worry about it to much. Just hang in there!
I'm headed down stairs in a few minutes to attempt W6D1.
Wish me luck!!

Yes, I have a friend who LOVES to Neti Pot. She doesn't have health insurance so she does it every single day to help her stay healthy. My doctor *did* give me antibiotics but even after finishing them I still have pressure and pain. I just added Afrin to the mix for the next 3 days. Afrin will clear just about any blockage, LOL.does anyone like the neti pots? Guess we hate the illness more! Good luck, I know they are saying no more antibiotics for ear infections -does that mean you have to wait till it becomes something far worse? Hope the neti pots work for you!
I have to admit that I was a little "huh?!?" when you joined our little beginner runner thread. Here you are with all your experience including a marathon when most of us are not even sure we can do a 5K without dying. But ... I see now that you are just like the rest of usi just printed the C25K training list and week 3 has you speeding for 200 yards 3x the first week! Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then do two repetitions of the following:
Jog 200 yards (or 90 seconds)
Walk 200 yards (or 90 seconds)
Jog 400 yards (or 3 minutes)
Walk 400 yards (or three minutes)
I dont want to be obsessive or anything...
Thanks for the support and encouragement, this is a mental challenge as much as it is a physical one - I have the memories of how hard and how far 13.1 miles - - and I'm really not in the place to do that - I want to quit... each and every day!
. Wanting to be up for the challenge but not really sure if we are or not. Wanting to quit every single day (I do at least once per run) but slogging through anyway. I admire that you finished a marathon but I admire you even more for joining us newbies and starting back at ground zero with the rest of us

I finished W4D2!
I was definitely breathing hard by the end, but we were still talking a bit right up to the finish...
and I'm ready for week 4!Good job indimom !!!!
Tried W6D1 but my head just wasn't in it. I quit about 1/2 way through the 8 minute run. I did get a mile in so I got some kind of exercise but not enough.
the tops of my feet were really hurting and I'm not sure why.
I think I'm going to go back to week 5 tomorrow.
DH is coming home tonight!! So I'm happy, it will take some of the load off of me.

I think that the time/yards thing is an either/or. Either you walk 200 yards at a slower pace and then run 200 yards at a faster pace *or* you walk 90 seconds at a slower pace and then run 90 seconds at a faster pace. The distance option is probably designed for people who are running on a track. I go by time.
Hi C25Kers!
My name is Carissa and I first did the program last January. I graduated and went on to compete in a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and an 8k. However, once I finished the program, I never again ran for more than 5 - 6 minute intervals. I'm a run/walker (more like a jog/walker). I took time off after the half to try and heal a groin strain. Then we bought our first house and I just recently got the treadmill up and running in our new house.
I decided to do the program again in the hopes that I can increase my overall speed. I'd also like to be able to completely run a 5k without any walk breaks, just to know that I CAN do it. I'm currently on week 2.
I look forward to getting to know you all.![]()
Carissa - I recognize your screen name!Woo Hoo! I DID IT!I finished W4D2!
I can't believe how hard it was on Monday and how much easier it seemed today.I was definitely breathing hard by the end, but we were still talking a bit right up to the finish...
There was NO WAY I was doing any talking Monday..it was all I could do to breathe.
I am a happy, happy girl right now.![]()

All I can think of if the top of your feet were hurting is maybe they are swelling? Do you get your shoes from a running shoe store? This I know sounds expensive - but they are really trained at seeing the different ways we walk/run - and the size of feet to the size and specs of different shoe manufacturers... Well worth it - hurt feet is just wrong! Finally did W3D3.
However I modified it a bit. I made all my walks into 1 minutes. I had a guest over and didn't want them to get annoyed so I tried to cut it down. It went welland I'm ready for week 4!
W3D3!! I did it! I DID it! I DID IT! W5D3 20 minute run is in the books!

Oh I know what that feels like - why cant we get our head in this game? All I can think of if the top of your feet were hurting is maybe they are swelling? Week 4 day 1 today. The runs weren't to hard but by the last 5 I just wanted it to be over. My knees are killing me so I need to change something. What got me through my run today was the thought of the new swimsuit I'll get once the 9 weeks are up.![]()
Keep your eye on the prize!
I am finding it hard to motivate myself now to keep going and my 5k is still 2 weeks away. Ticking off those days kept me going. I'm worried, DH's friend did a race last night on the same course and said the entire first half is pretty much all uphill. Even he, who is a runner almost had to walk some of it he said. Lovely.Congratulations!!! The good news is the second half of the race should be all down hillI finished the program this week.
