Couch bed or air bed?

I'm thinking I might have a ~6 person group going to Disney next year and if that's the case more than likely I will try to get a 2BR villa. Do you think for the 2 people that don't sleep in an actual bed it would be more comfortable to bring an air bed or are the couch beds not bad?

I've experienced couch pullouts at both SSR and OKW - they aren't great but they are doable. If the poor folks stuck on the fold out are tall they may hate it. If they are 6 feet tall, their feet might stick off the edge. With a 2 bedroom villa, 2 couples can each take a queen bed in the 2nd room so no one would be on a pullout.

I thought two bedrooms were a king, a queen, 2 pull outs, and a chair bed?

Every 2BR villa I have stayed in had a King in the master bedroom and 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom. That being said, my experiences are OKW , SSR and GF Villas. If you at a different resort, it might vary.

I assumed they all had the same layout but turns out that was just the resorts I was looking at (Beach Club, Boardwalk, Animal Kingdom Lodge)

Now I have the dilemma of resorts I like and are cheaper vs resorts that will have more beds but be more expensive.

It depends on where you stay. At BWV, all two bedroom villas are lockoffs. That means a studio and a one bedroom. So one king, one queen, one queen sleeper and one double sleeper. At BCV, there are some dedicated two bedroom villas with one queen bed and one double sleeper in the second bedroom because some of the rooms are a bit smaller. So 25 will have two queen beds in the second bedroom and the rest (the majority of the dedicated) with have the queen and double sleeper. At OKW, every second bedroom whether lockoff or dedicated will have two queen beds. Some of the lockoffs will also have a murphy bed in the second bedroom. And some of the villas (AKV-non-value villa, BLT and OKW) will also have the twin sleeper chair in the living room.

OKW has the sleeper chair also...and, BCV allows 9, but you provide the bedding...I'm hoping once BCV are renovated the lock off will allow 10, since they will have the Murphy bed.

Any dedicated 2BR will have 2 queens in the 2nd BR. If you stay at a 2BR lock-off (a studio and a 1BR) somewhere other than OKW or certain rooms at BC, you'll get the bed and sleep sofa in the 2nd BR.

Backwards on the BCV. All lockoffs have the pullout. Some dedicateds have a pullout instead of a queen. These are a booking category, and the ones with two queens are usually gone before the seven month window.

Oh, I think getting off the floor from an airbed is a bigger deal than the actually fairly comfy sofa beds DVC has. But I'm nearing 50, and fine airbeds to be very uncomfortable in the best circumstances - I like a firm bed and would rather sleep on the floor - so its both the floor and the mattress. If you are really young and like a squishier mattress than I do, maybe the airbed is better. Why don't you ask your guests?

My son is the one that is usually relegated to the pull out sofa and he prefers an air mattress. He is just over 6 feet tall and says it is just more comfortable and no bar digging into his back. Now he has not tried the sleeper chair....he might like that better than the sofa. But a couple might prefer the pull out.
