Does anyone know if I can get a cot while we are staying on pts at akv jambo? I am traveling with my mom and aunt in a studio who swear they cannot share a bed. Can we get or rent a cot?

DVC will not provide rollaways or cots. Since AKV is a DVC resort, no rollaways or cots. Ask which one wants to stay at home or which one wants to pay for another studio.

Are you in a 1 BR or a studio?. If I recall right, the Jambo house Studios are VERY SMALL. While we frequently travel with an air mattress, because we travel as three adults and one child, I remember the one time at AKL staying in a studio and there were just two of us, I thought good thing, because we never would have fit the air mattress in.

The front desk said that I could get a rollaway for $17 per night. Now, I am concerned because I always find these boards to be pretty darn accurate. I am wondering since AKLodge has the rollaways (and I was specific on the phone that I would be staying in a studio on pts) is that why they might be available at this resort and not other DVC only resorts?

yeah, sometimes the hotel side has one and will allow it to be used on the DVC side.

Having been in a studio before, I'm struggling on where there would be enough room to put a roll-a-way with the sleeper-sofa pulled out.

I am figuring that we will have to move the table and chairs. We plan to fold up the bed during the day so we can at least WALK! lol

ouch - i hate to hear about that sort of extra wear and tear...i'm guessing you are not an AKV owner that will be paying for that down the road...

just be aware that a rollaway bed may not be available...you might be better off bringing an inflatable mattress if possible.

I agree with Charles. What they tell you over the phone, may be completely different than what happens when you get there. They are not supposed to provide cots and rollaways for DVC.

And, please, don't move the furniture around.

What you got was a call center. Did you call MS because the answer from CRO will be different than MS?

Personally, Even if you could find somewhere to move the table to, when the sofa bed is pulled out I don't see any way a cot would fit it. AND if you did manage to squeeze it in, no one would be able to get to the bathroom while all three beds were in use. (JMHO - open to hear from others)

Curiosity got the better of me
If you are in a VALUE studio at Jambo house, square footage is 316
If you are in a standard Studio, you may be ok as square footage is 365

We have had no trouble fitting an airmattress into BWV (359 sq ft) OKW (390) or SSR (355)

With 316SF I don't think there's enough room

Good LUCK!

You kind of have to move the furniture around...the coffee table is in front of the sleeper sofa and (at least in our last three stays) the Internet router plugged in behind the bedside table has been unplugged by mousekeeping and dropped on the floor, necessitating pulling the table out and pushing it back in. In our AKV 1-bedroom, you had to move furniture to fold out the sleeper chair.

I'm more concerned about the cheap veneer on some resort's cabinets and the proliferation of vinyl at BLT. You can hardly ask people not to open the cabinets where the dishes and garbage cans are, or not sit on the vinyl upholstered benches. These units were destined for heavy occupancy, so selecting fragile, easily-damaged materials for furnishings is the kind of decision only made by someone or some committee that doesn't pay the dues.

Maybe the cot would fit in the hallway by the door and sinks.
Not really where I would want to sleep though.

I LOVE the sleeper chairs in the 1-bedroom resorts that have them...wish they would all go that way. Seems really wasteful to have to get a two bedroom with only four people (and two of those people are a teen brother and sister who cannot share a sleeper sofa bed). The one bedrooms with just the sleeper sofa and no sleeper chair don't solve the problem...there's just more room for an air mattress.

We are in a standard studio....no way in a value.

And to the quote a few back....I am a dvc owner....maybe not at AKL but at SSR. We have two small children and often have to move some things around for their safety and comfort.....and I don't feel that is in any way abusing the properties. I need to make my family comfortable. I do take my ownership seriously.

That might work....at least it elminates the "being close to the bathroom" problem someone else mentioned!

Where does the extra wear and tear come in?

We always have to move the furniture around when we are in a studio. Why are you opposed to moving chairs and tables out of the way?
