i am everywhere on the property...meaning that i work at all four of the theme parks...i work on parades and shows mostly at the magic kingdom...i work on spectromagic, the disney dreams come true parade, the halloween parade, Mickeys twas the night before christmas, and dream along with mickey! i encourage you to go onto youtube and research these parades and shows because your daughter is about to be apart of professional theatre at its finest!

But Tyler, there is a chance she could be working in regular costuming. Not everyone is put in entertainment costuming.

She's a theater major. Would that make a difference?

Maybe. But there's no way to know for sure until she arrives. Maybe it would help if she emailed her recruiter and asked to be put in entertainment costuming. No guarantees, but it can't hurt.

My friend is in costuming but I'm not sure how often she checks this site. I shall refer her to this post next time I see her. She is arriving with me on the 5th and will also be there till the 15th of May.

what do you do exactly as a costuming CP? Do you actually sew and make the costumes they wear or are you more of a dresser that helps the performers with their costumes? Also, I'm interested in theatrical wigs and makeup, as an entertainment costume CP are there any oppurtunities to do hair and makeup?

You don't really do any sewing. It's more of assisting the other cast members or characters (you either work in the regular costuming, or in entertainment costuming).

No, cosmotology helps with that.

as a costuming cp, you do have alot of exposure to wigs and wig making, over at dak. as apart of your costuming orentation, you will travel across the whole property, and see different important functions of a garment. from its concept, to pattern making, to the work room, to the finished peice. plus you also get to get an exclusive tour of where they make wigs. when i took the tour they were starting to make wigs for the faries....mind you this was way back in may. so it is really an amazing tour! but you do not handle wigs...you can ask many questions!

I got accepted as a Costuming Cast Member for CareerStart Spring Adv. 2009. I really want to be a part of the entertainment part of costuming!!! I have a recruiter, Jessica Hodge. Before I got my letter I didn't know CareerStart applicants were given a recruiter. So I don't know how I can contact her to put in that request. Though in my interview for attractions, she knew I had great interest in theatre and have three years of theme park entertainment experience and I was asked questions regarding their shows. I kind of hope I was considered to work the parades and stage shows.

So if anyone who has had Jessica as a recruiter can give me her email it would greatly be appreciated! Thanks.

based on the way disney e-mails are, my guess is. . . Jessica.Hodge@disney.com

So what do CPs wear if they are in costuming?

Black bottoms, and a multi-colored shirt (the shirt has a maroon-type colored sleeves, with the left side of the shirt green and the right side is blue. Then the collar and the front with the buttens is the same maroon color).

Costuming CP sounds like an AWESOME job.
I'm hoping to do the fall adv '10 program, and as a theatre major, that would be an amazing opportunity for me! :)

currently i am on the fall advantage term...and let me tell you.....it is the BEST time to be here! i have worked on the halloween parade, during fourth of july, thanksgiving, Twas, shows on the castle stage....to where i can say that i have worked inside the castle! and that i have had the oppertunity to see the castle suite. it is just overall a GREAT time to work.

Did anyone here put costuming as their first choice when interviewed? What types of questions can the interviewer ask for this position?

Entertainment costuming sounds amazing!
