We have been twice. The first time we were a mish-moss of costumes DD(6 at the time) was a friend of Tinkerbell's. She was a fairy. We used her ballet costume from dance and bought wings. DN (12 at the time) was a friend of the Villians She was an Evil Goddess. She got alot of attention from the villians. They loved her. I was a clown, DH was a pirate. DH didn't want to dress, but, once we did he was happy with it.
Second year, DH came up with the Pirate's of the Carrabian theme. This time he really got into it. There were 9 of us (3 families). And we all stayed with the same theme. I purchased all of the clothing for my 3 from the Goodwill. Bought the accessories from
Walmart. I only spent $10 at the Goodwill and that was for all 3 of us. Once our friends saw what we had for costumes, they brought their bought ones back to the store and had me dress them as well. For 7 of the 9 of us it only cost $35.00 for the entire outfits including accessories. and props. Accessories and props are very important to our family. We were giving our own Halloween treats to the CM. We handed out small bags of gold choc. coins. We looked great as a group.
If you've never been before. ....Some words of advice...
*Try to go to MK earlier in the day of party. It's really cool to see the transformation they make is such a small amount of time.
*Take advantage of the free photo booths they have set up. (There's usually 3-4 of them).
*If you can, go on Halloween night. We went the first Halloween after 9/11. Full moon and all.
*Keep in mind that what ever costumes you choose, you have to pack them. Try to stay as light as possible. The first year we had to bring an extra suitcase just for them. The second year everything fit right in with our other things.
You will be amazed at some of the costume you see there. There is such a veriety of things. Not all being Disney related either.
Most important.....Have a great time.
