Sorry if I'm annoying anyone will my ridiculous amount of questions.

So, I know on the first day you have Traditions, which is business professional. On the next day of your training though (like when you start training at MK, because you're assigned to Fronteirland attractions, etc), do you also have to wear business professional?

Now, I have a few questions about costumes.

- How does costuming work? Do you go to a general costuming building, or is it on-site? Like there's one backstage at MK, AK, etc -- or is there just one general location?

- Do you show up at work in regular clothes, and then change? If so, do they have places to change? Or do you show up and get your costume from the costuming building/department/whatever?

- Do you wash your own costumes, or do you have to take them back to costuming everyday and pick up new ones?

Thank you in advance, and as usual, the more details you can provide the better! :)

Now, I have a few questions about costumes.

- How does costuming work? Do you go to a general costuming building, or is it on-site? Like there's one backstage at MK, AK, etc -- or is there just one general location? There is one on every site. There are too many costumes to put in one general location.

- Do you show up at work in regular clothes, and then change? If so, do they have places to change? Or do you show up and get your costume from the costuming building/department/whatever? You can do either. I know some people who like to change at work, especially if they plan to visit a park right after work. There are changing rooms and restrooms to change in. Others (like myself) just go to work in our costume. They give you 5 sets of costumes to take home and bring back at the end of the program.

- Do you wash your own costumes, or do you have to take them back to costuming everyday and pick up new ones? You can wash your own clothes or take them back to costuming and have them wash it for you (they give you a new set in the meanwhile). I find it more easy to wash them on my own.

Thank you in advance, and as usual, the more details you can provide the better! :)

Hope this helps!

Thank you. Is the first day of (I think I've heard people call it 'location training'? Where everyone who's going to work at MK trains at MK that day) that training -- is the dress code as strict as Traditions? I mean do they send people home if they aren't wearing the correct 'business professional' clothes?

They allow you to wear sneakers due to the amount of walking that will occur. But I would def stay in the Traditions mindset when it comes to dressing. Skirt, nice top, comfy flats. But although they allow comfy shoes, still no open toes/flip flops/sandals. You still need to look nice.

For girls, I highly recommend skirts. It's gonna be HOT, you will want to be comfortable. I did my Discovery Day (Epcot) in February(early Feb) and I wore slacks and a sweater, and I was dying by the end of the day

I opted to wash my tops on my own because finding XS tops was nearly impossible and when you found them, you held on to them. Same with finding a coat in your size.

Cast Members are expected to be in compliance with the non-costumed guidelines of The Disney Look at all times when attending company seminars or classes.

Each Park and Resort will have their own Costuming facility. Smaller areas may have their costumes stored at larger facilities.

Through the Castzooming Programme (DLR: Costume FastTrack), Domestic Costumed Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Cast Members are now allowed to take their costumes home and change to and from them there. Cast Members participating in this program are expected to follow certain guidelines when wearing their costume off Disney Property, including one's nametag. Proper instructions are included in both the DLR and WDW versions of The Disney Look.

In the interest of preserving the magical experience our Guests have come to expect from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Cast Members are requested, but not required, to change in and out of their costume on property.

Cast Members who take their costumes home may elect to wash them themselves. In doing so, they are expected to handle the costumes with care and follow the care instructions listed in each costume. Damage to a costume will cause a Cast Member to be charged for repair or replacement. Costumes that are supposed to be Dry Clean Only MUST be returned to a Costuming location for cleaning.

Thank you.

So I guess most people (who wash their costume themselves) just bring their costume in a duffel bag of some kind? In the changing areas or break rooms, do we have somewhere to store that bag safely?

There are lockers you can use. Not a lot of cps change at work. They just go to work in the costumes and bring a bag of clothes if they are planning to visit a park after work. I tried doing the changing at work, but it never worked out because sometimes the clothes would get wrinkly and it also takes time to change into my costume which almost made me late a few times. In my opinion, its better to go to work in your costume. What changed my mind from changing at work to just going to work in my costume is because I missed the bus one time and by the time I got there I only had 5 minutes before I clocked in, but that is the time it takes to get to my location, so I was 7 minutes late because I had to change into my costume.

Oh, good points. Especially the wrinkling thing, I know a few people who've been given an ER because their costumes were too wrinkly.
