Could someone who lives near the World or who is going soon make a quick list of the available costumes there right now and their prices for me?

I'm trying to decide whether to buy a costume before coming to MNSSHP, or to buy it there. I know the costumes in the World seem to be better quality than those at Disney Stores, but just wanted a quick check.

I would appreciate info on:
-girl costumes & price
-boy costumes & price
-crown accessories and the like, but NOT shoes and stuff they will have to hold all night like wands...

Thanks to anyone and everyone that can help me out!

well, I know a couple of people in Florida but they are all a little busy right now nailing plywood over their windows and watching the weather channel to see when they are going to get hit with what might be the largest hurricane in the past 50 years. I don't think they are going to have the time right now to make a list of costume choices for you.

You might try calling the WDW merchandise phone line or waiting a week or so to ask your question.

Last year I told DD that I would buy her a Belle dress once we got to WDW for her to wear at CRT. When we got down there, the dress & accessories was going to be over $100. The similar dress ~$40 @ Disney Store. I just couldn't pay that price. She also has very sensitive skin & the dress had alot of the netting type fabric that breaks her out. I found a really pretty one (prettier than Disney's) on e-bay for around $40.

Sorry - I didn't mean RIGHT now. I have such a busy schedule, that if I need to know something, I have to write it down then, or I forget it.

If I offended you by asking, sorry. We average 2-3 hurricanes here each year, so I know how hurricane season can be. Hugo devastated the area I live in.

AFTER the hurricane threat is over, if anyone is interested in helping me out, I would appreciate your info. If you aren't interested in assisting me, just don't reply to the post!

Better?

PS, thanks Crankyshank for the e-mail address and KristiKelly for your experience. It puts the prices at Disney Store in perspective for me. I certainly don't intend to spend $100 on an outfit that, at most, will be worn 2-4 times!

I just got back Friday and bought both DDs Cinderella there because they are nicer and this Halloween we'll at WDW!!! So I figured I'd get them nice special costumes.

Cinderella was $55.
Alice was $45

Jasmine was $55

Then there was Sleeping beauty and a Christmas Sleeping Beauty at the Ariel show store, and two kinds of Ariel costumes; the wedding one and one with a fin, and then a fancy Sleeping Beauty, Snow White.

The store by the Ariel show also had fancy (deluxe) Christmas Belle (different from the deluxe Christmas Belle from the Disney Store).

Sorry I didn't get prices on any other ones except for the ones I mentioned.

They also had Tinkerbell.

The majority of their regular costumes (non-deluxe) are about $55.

You can get 10% off with AP at the World of Disney.

I noticed the prices above seem cheaper than what I said. We may have been looking at the deluxe (I don't know). Along with the dress, DD wanted some of the accessories. I just remember it was gonna be around $100 for everything. Seems like there may have been a cloak(?) thing, that was extra of course - & she wanted that too. Anyway, cheaper @ Disney Store. I felt really bad for DD though, I had told I'd get it for her & then didn't (she understood that it was expensive). When we ate b'fast @ CRT she saw a little girl wearing the same dress - I felt terrible. We are going back in Oct., I'm taking the dress, she'll wear it to both MNSSHP & Princess Storybook B'fast.

Costco has some great costumes right now. A lot under $20. I saw a lot of Disney "princess" type dresses too.

I was planning on buying mine at WDW, but w/ Disneystore.com sale right now I bought their costumes onlineyesterday. I won't let them see them yet, and if I happen to find something I "have to have" I can always return the Disney Store ones. Or I may just have to buy them for a Christmas present to add to her dress up closet. I don't have to hard of a time justifying the cost since it seems my dd wears her Princess and tink costumes more then her regular clothes (parental guilt of traveling to WDW for a short trip without the kids may factor in there too ;) )!!

DD is gonna be Sleeping Beauty and I got the Disney Store version for $19.99 down from $34.50 (25% off and an additional 20% with SPOOKY20 code for Disney Visa users... I got free shipping too).

DS is gonna be Captain Hook and I got that for $23.99 down from $39.50.

I also got all the crown, wand, hook, etc accessories at 20% off.

I bought a friend's dtr a Jasmine Costume and it cost me:
55.00 + tax for Outfit
14.00+ tax for shoes
12.00+ tax for wig
12.00+ tax for wand/ earrings
10.00 + tax for crown

I know their total came to around 150.00 before 10% AP holder discount.

I hope this helps you.
