The family of 4 going with us in 2008 are tentativley looking at £3500-ish for Villa, Flights, Car and passes. Thats what I quoted them for TDC flights and Economy car, an upgrade would be extra but they shouldnt need it as they can chuck excess baggage (or one of the kids) in with us to and from the airport.

:yay:

When are you going? The time of year will affect the prices.

This September we are paying £2500 for a family of 4, 2 adults/2kids, staying at Pop Century for 14 nights, flights with Virgin and 14 day ultimates for us all as well as free DDP.

On top of that will be car hire approx £300, and Universal park tickets which for 4 of us are £112, as they have a special offer with kids free at the moment.

We have even booked a night at the Hard Rock Hotel with FOTL passes for the check-in and check-out day for approx £100.

So in total without spending money our holiday is coming in at £3000 with food paid for.

We are thrilled with this price.:thumbsup2

Don't want to worry you about this hotel but read what I say then if you have concerns request a suitable room or consider a change. We have just returned from Comfort inn LBV yesterday after a 11 night stay, You can see the list of hotels we have stayed at below, this was (maybe with the exception of Travelodge maingate East) the worst hotel we have stayed at
Cons, Room was not vaccumed once in 11 nights
Dust on safe was thick.
Shower head was black with dirt.
Flies came out of plug hole in sink
Had to kill cockroach on floor in room.
Noise from I4 all night (did not bother us we sleep thru anything).
Persistant timeshare/ticketsales in lobby
$9.99/day for internet connection which was not good
Very small safe

Pros, great location
Free breakfast (did not try it)
Security on gate (although this could mean they have a problem with crime)
Comfortable and clean beds
Free wireless connection in public areas

Sorry its not good news, maybe we got a bad room, I read a lot of reviews before I went and they were about 50/50 for satisfaction I only paid £20/night and glad I did not pay anymore
Tips to help you, request a room facing the carpark not the I4 if you are a light sleeper and a room above the ground would have less chance of anything coming in under the door.
Personally, I dont mind cockroaches etc. luckily I dont have a fear of anything but I know it would ruin some peoples holiday.
Will not be returning to this hotel.
Good luck
Wayne

thanks for the head up wayne
we knew this was a budget hotel and i was aware of the noise issues from the I4 but the above ground floor room is something i hadn`t thought of ,i have requested at time of booking and will probably fax the hotel a week before the issiues of room facing away from I4 and also could we have a higher level room,i guess the way we see it for the price we are paying you wouldn`t expect luxury and if i have to put my own cleaning skills in to place then so be it!!
thats why i love these boards as everyone is able to give tips no matter what budget you`re on
thanks liz

we paid £2500 xmas just passed staying onsite but when you add spending money, ticket money, food money it all mounts up, we did save money with getting into seaworld for free :) which was gd

Last trip August 05 we (2 A & 2C) paid about £6000 for Virgin flights, POR for 14 nights, ultimate park tickets and all our food and spending money. This year it's working out at just over £4000 for the Virgin flights, CSR for 14 nights, tickets and free dining. That includes frequent virgin discount.

We are going first 2 weeks in december this year with first choice flying star class premier and staying at the akl with a car £3800.00
Not got tickets yet, nor food, nor spends :headache:
£8000.00?
