I called right when their phones opened, which unfortunately is already 2 hours after Disney's phones opened. I needed to transfer 3 linked reservations to next year. The person answering was not knowledgeable, she was nice but was only told to full out the forms. So even though all the info is already on the reservations, she had to get all the info on names, birthdates, categories, room requests, etc just like a brand new reservation. That took 20 minutes. Then she said I would hear back in 24 to 48 hours.

I had called them last week and they said I couldn't do anything in advance, I had to wait to call.

Not sure this is worth the Costco Shop card. Dreams Unlimited is getting my next reservation if I use a Travel Agent.

Followup. Costco came through just over 5 hours later. They moved two of our three rooms and somehow dropped the ball on the third one. I called back and they were able to get that fixed in an hour. Glad I followed up right away rather than waiting.

I did learn something -- they said Disney wasn't allowing four people in the at 5B (capacity 5) room at this time, so we had to put one of our grandchildren in our room.

Thanks for sharing everything. Hmmm I wonder if I should just call Costco direct on Wed morning. I'll be following everyone for the next 24 hours to see what's up!

My sister is gold and was able to call today to give them information. She still has to call tomorrow, but least they have it all written down.

Practice calling before your time.
1-866-921-7925, option 2, option 2 for Disney Cruise (new Option 8 for new Disney sailing itineraries)

There is a really long message you have to listen to after you press the first option 2 for cruises. I timed it so I called in at a little before the hour, so that it was at the opening time when the message was done. I was the agents first call of the morning.

I used Costco one time and decided it’s not worth it and went back to a TA. She sent me pricing today and will book everything for me on Wed without me having to do a thing. Well worth it.

It's certainly not for everyone, especially if you are planning to book a high demand itinerary or difficult to snag stateroom. However, the saving is the best there is for DCL.

Hmm... I'm curious if this sailing already happened to hit lifeboat capacity on the section they were checking. It just seems odd otherwise...

Hopefully she advised you that pricing could be radically different on Wednesday...if you have a limit on budget that is. (I use a TA too and we were talking through the day as she could. She knows what my budget is, and we both know how close to the max the cruises I am looking at are. I am Gold and we left it at “We’ll chat tomorrow” - meaning Tuesday. That is how not comfortable she is that the prices won’t spike before she is able to get through based on what she saw yesterday.

Yes, I am aware. Just wanted opening day prices as a baseline. Will reevaluate if increases too much.

I thought it was because of pandemic. It couldn't be at lifeboat capacity that quickly, it was in the first day of bookings.

I'm silver so today is my day. I got through to a Costo agent right at 9am Central time. The agent seemed very prepared (like, she knew what a placeholder was and how to handle it.) She took down all my information and said she would pass it to the agents that sit on hold with Disney, and they would call me back. We shall see. I guess it's nice they don't make me wait on hold the whole time, but I don't like feeling so out of the loop.

I admit, I got impatient. I called 1 min before 7 and was on hold still an hour later. I just booked straight w/Disney online and I'll try to do the transfers next week. I didn't mind being on hold, but I didn't want to lose out on the section I was looking at. And who knows, maybe they'll call me to cancel the current August Alaska and I can take care of things then.
As my daughter just told me, "Better to have too many cruises booked than none at all." Not sure my husband sees it that way.

I modified through Costco yesterday. I was on the phone for about 7.5 hours to get it done.

It was really frustrating because while I was holding at the 6 and 7 hour mark, people were saying on FB that they had only held for about an hour when calling Disney direct.

I really didn't feel comfortable just telling them what I wanted and hanging up. I had a OBB and future cruise credit I needed applied. Plus the price had already gone up and I wasn't sure when they would get around to making the change. If it was days later, the price could have been significantly more.

I had a great experience with Costco today. I had no problem getting through to Costco. The person took my information and then called Disney. A few hours later I got an email confirmation of my booking. They were able to transfer by placeholder and my 40 percent discount.

This is good to hear. I'm still waiting for a call or email. 🤞
