that's lame, well I'm there enough that it wouldn't take very long for me to just use that money on Costco and use the money I would have used for the cruise.

Speaking as someone who's been to Costco TWICE since I received my gift cards... you have to put them in your wallet AND remember to take them out at the cash in order to use them.

When I had one before I put it in my wallet where the usual Costco card goes, and I put the Costco card in the back

No, Costco Travel only takes Visa and Mastercard.

This is exactly what I do - I have to do this with the annual rebate coupon too or I'll never remember to use it.

It may have to do with state, and local laws.

You should be able to. I believe the only restrictions are for things like DCL where the money goes directly to the cruise line and not through Costco. Anything you normally buy in the warehouse should be fine.

Not a problem at my particular Costco. You simply cannot apply them to more Costco Travel bookings. Optical, anything sold on the floor, pharmacy and liquor all take it.
