Costco Package Dining Vouchers- Which Restaurants?

Online it says Character Meal, but I have since heard these vouchers can be used for dining elsewhere on property/in the Parks. We will receive 4 X 49= $$196 in vouchers. We would prefer NOT a character meal. Looking for people who have used these recently. Where have you used the vouchers, which restaurants? Thanks

When we went in Dec 16 we got character meal vouchers with our Costco package. We were able to use them for any dining in either park at DLR. We are going again next month and will again use our vouchers for dining

They typically come with a vacation package (tickets and hotel) booked via Costco. So while the tickets and room rates aren't usually that different from booking direct, you do get these vouchers and other perks such as a coupon book with discounts for tours and few other random things. Often they have promos that also include a disney gift card, especially for on site hotels. (amount varies by promotion, number of nights etc.)

These vouchers are not sold "a la carte".

We used ours at Carnation Cafe. Our bill was 102.xx before tip. We used two vouchers and paid the rest in cash.

Can you use them for both quick service and table service restaurants? Alcohol? I hear that they don’t give change on them so it’s best to use them on a meal that either going to be expensive, or use one or two on a less expensive meal and pay the remainder in cash- saving the other vouchers for another meal(s).

I should have said it was for a party of 5 (3 teenagers), everyone ordered what they wanted, plus an order of fried pickles and seasoned French fries. We left stuffed. No room for dessert.
