Costco or Sam's club membership?

Costco. But I live in Seattle, which is VERY much costco country. I can be at about 4 different Costco's (soon to be 5) in less then 1/2 hour. There is only one Sams close to me.

I like both but since Costco is right down the street I like it better. I have memberships to both as there are somethings I can find at Sams that I can't find at Costco.

I've only been to a Sam's once, and that was ages ago. But I love my Costco!!! :)

Someone once told me that you can compare Sam's and Costco to Wal-Mart and Target. People who love Wal-Mart tend to love Sam's. People who love Target tend to love Costco.

I believe you can take tours of membership only clubs free of charge, you should tour both and see which one you like better.

We did. We have been going to Sam's for years and have only been to Costco once. We didn't really get to take a good look cuz we were with my uncle and kinda in a hurry...

We have a Costco membership, and my mom has a Sam’s Club membership. We both think that in our area Costco is much nicer than Sam’s for some reason. I have saved a fortune on certain items at Costco. We regularly buy our Diet Cokes (we drink a lot of them, LOL), paper towels, and toilet paper there at significant savings. For us the $45 annual membership fee was money well spent. :)

If you buy the Executive Membership at Costco, it will cost you $100.

But, you will get 2% of your purchases back by check during the year up to $500-so in the long run, the Executive Membership will be free!!! ! :cool1: :thumbsup2

We have both memberships. But then- I also like Target and Wal Mart. There are pro's and con's to both. We like the business hours of Sam's Club opening at 7:30am. Costco opens at 10:00am You can also use fax-pull or click and pull with Sam's and they will have your order ready for you. I also find better "sales" at Sam's than Costco. Sam's will discount their meat, Costco will not. Costco carries items that Sam's does not that my children like.

Costco only takes American Express for credit cards, Sam's only takes Discover. Both take debit cards though. I do know that you can get a refund at anytime of the year if you are not happy with your Sam's card. Even if you do it after 10 months. They will just pro-rate it.

Sam's club online has great auctions. Costco also has some great deals online, but no auctions.

The bigger benefit we have is when we are traveling, we don't have to look for one or the other. We know we can get a meal there, use the bathroom and stretch our legs in a "familiar" enviroment.

Oh- Sam's club also has cookies for children- Costco does not.

We like the arrangement and will continue to use it. You can also upgrade your membership and get 2% cash back at Sam's, just like Costco. We end up paying less each year for the membership because we do the 2% cash back for both Costco and Sam's.

If you don't know which one you want to try, go with someone who may have a card and see if it is for you. Another thing you can do is see if a neighbor would like to split the membership with you since you get two cards with the dues you pay each year. Only problem is that person is the only one that can purchase anything.

I hope that helps you.

Neither... BJ's all the way. If I had to pick between Sam's and Costco only, it would be Costco

Costco has far better brands of electronics if that is important to you. Sams has brans I have never heard of.

I think they're about the same; I hear hype about Costco and just don't get why. The stuff seems about the same, prices were the same, stores are the same (in my area), etc.

We've always had Sams because Costcos are hard to find here (and weren't even in our previous city!). We will now be getting a Costco membership because their dog food is EXCELLENT! I was shocked to find out that you can buy such good dog food at a fraction of the cost of icky foods like Iams and Purina. I wish more people would switch to it...

I borrowed a friends card to buy 1 bag of it to see how my dogs did on it and it was a success so I'm buying a membership JUST for dog food. It'll save me a ton!

Our Sams and Costco are less than a mile apart; we'll just hit them both now =)

Wow, it's that good? I buy Iams thinking it was the best choice for my new puppy.

btw....My mother has a Sam's membership and I have Costco so we take each other. It's hard for me to pick one over the other. But I will say that Sam's has the BEST salsa! I think they make it fresh on site.

I've only been in a Costco once about three years ago. I didn't see much of a difference between the two then. We only have a Sam's and there is no Costco within at least four hours from us, so Sam's it is!
