I book thru the Costco website, and it applies coupons automatically. But you don't actually print them out. I just got back from a trip using Costco for my car rental via Alamo for a mid size SUV.

Yesterday, I called Costco Travel and they didn't know the answer either. They told me to call my local Costco. I guess I could go through the Costco Travel website, buy I had hoped that I could maybe "stack" codes by going through the actual individual car rental website.

I have another rental question to ask, but I'm going to post it separately so it doesn't get lost in this thread.

It is the membership number on the back of your card. If you book directly with Alamo on their website you don't need your costco membership number. I have never once been asked for the costco membership card even though I have one.

For Alamo, I just go to the Costco webside and grab the ID (Contract ID), and the Coupon Code for the discount I am wanting to use. Then on the Alamo website I click on "More Options click here". The ID then goes in "I.D./Corp I.D." field. You don't need to put anything in the Membership # field, just leave it blank. Then put the Coupon Code in then you are set. You don't need to enter your Costco membership number anywhere on Alamo.com.

There is a $30 Costco coupon code for Budget MUGZ029. We are using it next week picking up in Punta Gorda(Ft. Myers) and returning to Sanford(Orlando). We used the coupon along with BCD # X474200 (which I think is Travelocity). We booked directly on the Budget website and saved a TON of money on a minivan.

The $30 coupon will not deduct on the reservation. I called Budget and they said that it is deducted at time of pick-up. All we need to do is show our Costco membership card.

That's what I do also.

I'll try this. I don't know what company website that I was on, but my Costco Membership # on the back didn't work...it kept getting rejected saying invalid.

Costco's website now has you register with a travel profile and password, for travel discounts, it is a fairly recent procedure. I think they are attempting to prevent non-members from obtaining the Costco car rental discounts. That said, as others have posted, for now you can still get around this by finding the Costco IDs somehow and entering them on the Alamo website directly. I even did this, because I was trying to use my Alamo Insiders along with the Costco discounts, and could not figure out how to do it thru the Costco website. (I am a Costco member). PS the last time DH rented in Las Vegas, he DID have to show his Costco ID. I have yet to be asked in Orlando, but I always carry it.

This is a HUGE beef that I have with Budget, just show me the discounted price. Alamo shows the price after the coupon on the confirmation.

I have used an Entertainment coupon in the past and also use the old Walmart contract ID. Just go directly through the Alamo website and enter the codes manually.
