costco car rental problem

I am trying to reserve a car rental in florida, I get the price on the website and get to the part where you can add a gps, booster seat etc, then it brings me back to the main screen? Anyone else have this issue? I am on the costco.ca site and it is not showing up in my rentals.

I have had some troubles, but I find I have to sign out and sign in to the Costco site again. Have you tried that?

We had no problems. Used Alamo via Costco Canada. The smoothest car rental experience we've ever had.

I was having the exact same problem you mentioned the other day. At first I logged in to the travel account and then went to car rental page. I got the same error as you over and over. Finally, I didn't log in, went to the car rental page, got through the add on's page and the upgrade to this car page and I was prompted to log in. At this point I logged in and the transaction was completed as expected. Got my email and the rental shows up on my account. I don't know if this will work for you but it's how I finally got the job done.

Yeah, I've consistently had to do it that way. Inconvenient, but when you know how to beat the glitch, everything works out fine.

Mmm... maybe, but it's been this way for at least 4 or 5 months.

If you have a pop-up blocker enabled, turn it off temporarily. The site may be trying to pop a required screen and returning to the home screen when the pop fails. You can also try another browser. I often switch to IE if a site is failing in Chrome or vice versa.

I have never had a problem booking a reservation with Costco whether I am already signed in or sign in when required during the booking process. They offer the best prices I can find!

I hadn't had a problem booking with them in the past either. That's why I was thrown for a bit of a loop when I couldn't seem to get it to work. I probably should have called them to let them know there was a glitch in the software.

I agree Costco has some of the best prices around.

Hope you got it to work. I never sign in first, don’t know why. I just sign in at the prompt, never had a problem. But then, I don’t add anything. I have a Garmin GPS I travel with. It’s cheaper for me to buy one then it is to keep adding on to rental. From Costco of course! I waited for coupon special.

Same. But I think that the OP isn't necessarily picking any of these options, simply finding that they get booted back to the main screen after clicking to get to the next step.

Well, there's always phoning Costco and booking that way, if nothing else works, but the login trick was always my issue. Just log out, go through the booking process and login when it asks, then it processes.

For those with Costco bookings, mine from Ft Lauderdale airport to Disney Car Care-in August just went down a tad.
So I rebooked. Out of curiosity I signed in first and didn’t work. But when I signed out, did booking and signed in when asked it worked fine.
Cost went down by $25. I expect it to continue going down a whole lot by August!
