Costco Booking + DVA...?

I know there's been a lot of threads about paying a Costco booking with a Disney Vacation Account, but none of them have really answered my question and neither did Costco when I called them.

We booked a Disney Cruise through Costco and have made the initial payment. Our Costco cash card amount that we will receive through booking with Costco is roughly around $200.

If we pay the rest of the Costco booking with the DVA, do we still get the full amount of money on the Costco cash card? So many questions about Costco booking + DVA in the threads I've read ask about whether or not you'd get the $20 every $1000 on Disney's end, and that seems to be the case from the answers I've read. But I haven't seen anything about whether or not the Costco cash card value would go down because we're not paying through Costco anymore.

Please let me know asap. Thank you so much!

Your Costco Cash Card perk shouldn't be impacted by the method of payment used to pay for the cruise. You can use credit card, Disney gift cards or DVA. If you are using a DVA, I believe you must call the number provided with your account -- it's specific to cruising -- because you are not allowed to give the DVA account number to a TA but since you booked through a TA you cannot call DCL directly to make payment. Costco continues to "own" the reservation as TA and any requests or changes must go through Costco.

You'll earn the $20 bonus through the DVA if the funds have been in the account for 120 days.

Enjoy your cruise!

Agree with the above and I can vouch I pay using my DVA with Costco booking and haven't been shorted anything in what I earned - it's just a method of payment. Also, stressing as others stated only you can provide the DV account number to DCL so you must call and make the payments (just like using a TA) so sometimes you have to remind the Costco reps of this and also remind the DCL reps of this. It adds a little extra work but nothing too bad.

I haven't used Costco, but when I call DCL and pay for my cruise with my DVA, I would also send an email to my TA telling her that the cruise was paid in full. DCL should also send the TA/Costco something that says the payment was made, but I like to make sure.
