Costco and Alamo

If I book a car through Costco, can I still use the kiosk instead of going to the counter? I am an insiders member and so I have all my stuff filled out ahead of time and usually use the kiosk, but the Costco website does not recognize insiders and also does not give me an Alamo reservation number - it gives me a Costco travel number.

I have used the kiosk when booking through the Costco Travel site with no problems.

You might also just book it through the Alamo site. You can put in the Costco Contract ID 7014627 in the spot which still gives you the Costco discount and the additional driver free. Once you enter this number on the Alamo site, you can still apply a coupon code (which you can't do on the Costco Travel site) and get a bigger discount. At the end of filling out your information, you will have to input your Costco membership number. I did it this way to get the Costco discount plus a VISA coupon discount.

I booked through costco. I received a confirm with costco confirm, but also Alamo confirm. I went to Alamo website to confirm my reservation using the Alamo confirm. It also let me pre-check in and skip both the kiosk and counter altogether. It says I can go straight to pick out a car (instructions are on the printout).

I just booked today as an Alamo insider directly on Alamo's site with the contract ID as stated. It saved me a good bit over just my Alamo Insiders discount. My last trip was the first I did early checkin with the skip the counter option. I cannot stress how awesome that was compared to a trip 10 years ago when we got stuck at the Hertz counter for 2 hours. So nice this past trip.

Hoping its ok if I join in and ask a related question. I also have a Alamo rental booked through Costco and received both the Costco booking number and Alamo contract number. How far ahead can I go online and checkin? Is it 24 hours like the airlines? It doesn't seem to say that anywhere on the website. I'd love to be able to do that so that I can go right to the garage in MCO.

The Costco PDF confirmation that is emailed after you confirm a rental includes both the Costco Travel number and the Alamo confirmation number.

It has been a while since we have used Alamo. Do they still have SaveTime? If so, you used to be able to do that any time after you had a confirmed reservation. I don't know about online checkin since we never did that before. But I see no reason to do online checkin until very close to the rental dates. I don't really want to provide my credit card information if there is a chance I will end up cancelling the reservation for a new one with a better rate.

We usually check-in online the night before we leave or first thing in the morning if we have a mid/late morning flight.
I believe that you can use the online check-in at anytime after you make the reservation, but we always wait until just before we fly out incase there are any price drops.

Thank you! We are 48 hours out now and I really don't see the price going down anymore (I've been obsessively checking). I will check in at some point tomorrow then.

I've booked on Costco website and Alamo website. Used online check in direct to car last 4-5 times. No issues at all.

I just rented from Alamo at Shades of Green. You can easily walk there from the Polynesian or Grand Floridian. It is literally across the road from the Poly - one a paved path with a designated crosswalk. It was an easy .7 mile walk from the Grand Floridian Villas.
There was no wait. I had my car within minutes.
Super convenient
I highly recommend.

Also, be sure to re-check rates within the 2 week window. My rates dropped from $66/per day to $33/day (one way rental - drop off at FLL Airport)
