Maybe you can help me clarify something?? Does it cost to change your reservations? Or is there a limit on how many times you can change your reservations and then they charge you points for it? Thank you for you help.

They don't charge you a fee to change a reservation. If the new reservation requires more points then the original, they will deduct the difference from your account.

My wife posted the original question here. This is my follow up question...

The reason I asked is DVC is doing something screwy with our points. We own 160 points at Saratoga Springs with an April 1st use year. We Banked 16 points from 2009. That left us 176 points for 2010. My brother rented 250 points from someone and transferred them into my account so I could make the reservations and handle everything for him. That made it a grand total of 426 points to use. They booked a trip for the end of October and stayed at Kidani Village and used 228 points and added a day at OKW for 17 more.

Here is a break down of how the points should total.
228 points Kidani October
17 points OKW October
153 points SS November
25 points OKW December

This totals to 423 points. I had a total of 426 points to use. I should be left with 3 points to bank. The rental points have a use year of June so they are still good. DVC is saying that I have 8 points currently banked and 151 points left in my 2011 use year. Did they mess up the point allocation? Can they fix it? Will they fix it? The member services person I talked to said "is all this over 1 point?" it really isn't. It is about the correct allocation of the points that have been used and when they were used.

I am not sure what has occurred but my guess is the issue has something to do with those transfered points. Which contracts did you actually use to make the particular reservations? 250 were transfered and it looks like they had different use year (June), maybe had different resort. Those would not have automatically been applied to your SSR or OKW reservations in Nov/Dec and I am not sure what contract you used to reserve OKW in October. It sounds like for the Nov/Dec trip you may have used only your SSR contract and even borrowed some points from your 2011 SSR use year. In other words, back track your reservations to the particular contract (yours or the transfer contract) actually used for each reservation and see what was used because if there are still points in the June transfer contract, then your account might turn out correct. If an error was actually made, they will fix it, but you need to confirm and show one was made.

You might want to check your Activity Statement on DVCMember.com to exactly what got booked and for how many points. I'm pretty sure that's what MS is looking at when you call.
