We like to have the bottled water for our excursions. We drink the ship's water while on the ship, but carry water for our use off the ship. So I was going to order some on the Shopping link. Water is priced as:
477843

Does anyone who's been on a ship (we're on the Fantasy, if they're different) remember how much the water is if you buy on board?

Also, a few years ago they were giving away a soft sided cooler with the water. Is that still a thing? It's not if you pre-order it, so I wondered.

Well, this was a few years ago, but the cost doesn't seem to have changed much:
477844

Seems like the difference is you can buy in groups of 6, now, not just 12 and 24. At least on line, you can.

Don’t forget that you can carry on bottled water. We have done that on our last two cruises. In Vancouver this past summer we had the cab from the airport stop so we could pick up wine and water.

The other times, we bought on the ship from one of the many CMs that were asking us to buy in Cabanas on embarkation day. It was left in our room. I don't remember any fees on that. Are you saying there are fees if I buy on line? I haven't tried to make the purchase, yet, so I don't know if something's added on later in the process.

Don't they sell the bottled water in glass bottles now? Cutting back on all plastics?

It was an automatic 15% gratuity when I looked online, and refused to purchase, 3 days ago. The Shipt small order fee plus tip will have me ahead. I’ll carry the case on myself for $46.

Yikes!! That must be something they just started. We didn't have to pay the extra 15% when I preordered last month. Guess we'll be bringing water on for our next cruise.

Two weeks a ago we bought 6 waters on the Fantasy before our excursion. It was 6 for 10.00 or 20.00 with the cooler.
Oh, so about the same as buying ahead.

I didn't realize that, but it does make sense. I expect they'd add a tip in if you buy it on line, too.

When we were on the Wonder for Christmas and New Year's B2B this past December and Then on the Fantasy 4 Jan - 11 Jan 2020 Disney was selling Bottled water in glass bottles in the cooler bags.
You'd think that would be a hazard, if someone broke one of the bottles. I wouldn't want to step on glass just under a deck chair by the pool. But, they say having water from a glass bottle is better for you.

I know I had to pay the 15% autogratuity when ordering water online going back at least to our 2015 Alaska cruise, so I stopped preordering since there was no savings compared to buying from one of the cast members once onboard. Now, I use a refillable water bottle or my Tervis, since the ship water tastes fine to me.

Interesting. We sailed on the Wonder at the end of January and we bought the cooler bag with 6 waters and the waters were definitely in plastic bottles.

Another option.. About a year ago, we got 2 2-packs of Thermoflask 40-oz stainless/insulated water bottles for a total of $40 (one bottle for each member of the family). We keep them topped up at home, kids take them to school, etc.. So for the same $40 spent on a $5 pack of water, you could get 4 water bottles, that you can keep on using. Then fill them up before you go on your excursions.
