You also may want to look into a weekly family plan at the marina. I would call Ft. Wilderness directly to ask if they offer this. I know at various times at the Wilderness Lodge they have had a plan where for about $200.00 for the week, you could rent the water sprites, pontoon boats, and bikes for your entire family, as many times as you like. The pontoon boats had an hour limit..on them..but you could keep it out longer if there wasn't anyone waiting for one. We have taken advantage of this plan twice. I believe I've seen that it was offered at FW also. With three kids..renting those sprites..it paid for itself in practically one use of the sprites. The kids rented the sprites every day. I will tell you that although the sprites fit two...they don't really move too quickly with two people in them. The first time my husband rented with my son..and it was really pokey...last time he was able to rent himself. Although it is my understanding now..that you might have to be 16 and have a license. Which I also think is dumb...used to be 12 and of a certain height. I can see if someone under 16 was renting alone..but just my opinion if you are renting with an adult getting one sprite the child should be able to get a sprite of their own. That's a whole other post though! In any case, if you are planning to be their for any length of time..I'd look into the week long..or it's for your entire stay rental since it also included all the other offerings at FW.
