We are staying off site at Bonnet Creek in May 2015. I have heard that the shuttle service to the parks is not as good as it used to be and we should consider renting a car.

I would appreciate if someone could give me an idea of the cost taxi fare to and from the parks.

If we do decide to rent a vehicle, is there a rental agency at Bonnet Creek and do they provide vehicles with GPS? We will not rent from the airport.

Thank you
Mae

Keep in mind taxis could be hard to come by, both coming and going. Not sure if a porter will do this for you at Bonnet Creek. Also, I'm not sure taxi drivers like the idea of going to the parks to pick anyone up; you may have to go to a Disney resort. I'm not sure taxis are waiting up for passengers at all hours of the day by the parks.

Thanks for the info. Gosh i really did not want to be driving in unfamiliar surroundings with Grandchildren in the vehicle. Exactly how is the driving from Bonnet Creek to the Disney Parks?

Suggest you call Bonnet Creek about onsite rentals. The longest drive from BC to any Disney park is no more than 10 minutes

There are taxi stands at all the parks and DTD so there is no problem getting one back to your resort. At the MK you will have to take the monorail or ferry over to the TTC and the taxis will be there. You would have to check with the front desk at Bonnet Creek to see about having them call a cab to get you.

I would call and verify what their shuttle fee is right now. I keep seeing posts that it is $6 per person per round trip but I just got my paperwork today and it says "$5 per-use shuttle fee per person" which implies that could be each way. That can add up fast. Taxi could be cheaper. We have a car so I never use the shuttles there.

Thank you and yes, I will give WBC a call and get some info on their shuttle service.

I'm still feeling this can be very hit and miss with taxis at the parks. I'm sure it's okay if you stay until park closing; because, then, there are masses of people leaving all at once and then it's worth it for the taxi drivers to be there. At other times I just don't see it being that easy. I don't like chance and you could wait a while for one.

Never any guarantee, but I am there for 5-6 weeks a year, I am usually coming and going at off hours, never at rope drop and have always seen plenty of taxis there. I think because shuttles from off site resorts are so limiting there are many that opt to use taxis. Taxi is also a great way to get between resorts.

If you don't see one at the parks, You can also take the disney bus or monorail to any resort and take a taxi from there.

There are lots of taxis all over Disneyworld.

There are always plenty of taxis waiting outside the parks. If, for some reason, there aren't any (which would be highly unlikely,) you could just call Mears and they would have one there in 5 to 10 minutes. The number is 407-422-2222.

I prefer taxifarefinder.com to the mears taxi fare estimator provided above.

A lot of people don't realize it, but there is a transportation board. I highly recommend posting your transportation questions over there.

Have you thought about Uber? They have an app, often are cheaper and are pretty quick.
