Cost of Taxi between Pop and BWV?

Since this will be our first stay at DVC, a question for you vets. We are staying our first night at the POP, then moving over to BWV. Do you think it is just easier for us to xfer over via a cab, or let the hotel xfer all our things. If you let the hotel xfer your luggage, etc and how long before it gets to the DVC hotel?

Our thought was to take the bus to Epcot in the morning and walk over to the BWV to check-in early and then go back to the park.

We are making a grocery stop before we check in to the POP so we would have groceries with us (we do not have a rental car).

Does anyone know how much a cab might cost?

Just guessing but I think a cab would probably run about $10. It would be a very short ride from Pop to BWV. (Roughly 2 miles).

The value resorts normally charge $10 for a small dorm fridge. You might consider purchasing your cold items at the screen door general store at BWV. That way, you don't have to worry about Pop keeping things cold. It's also highly possible that your BWV room won't be ready until 4pm. However, BWV does have cold storage if you need it.

If it were me, I'd have Pop staff xfer the luggage (with non-refridge groceries). spend the day enjoying the parks and meander back to BWV later in the day for check-in. Bell services will bring your luggage to the room. It would cost at least $20 for the Pop fridge and the taxi.

Several years ago we stayed the first night at ASM, the next day we transfered over to our home resort BWV, when we checked in at ASM we told them that we need to transfer over to the boardwalk the next morning and we had no problem at all. We just put all of our luggage by the door and when they came to pick up our things, they emptyed the fridge and it was sent over with the luggage and it was stored in BWV fridge until we checked in later in the day. Everything went smooth.

Since it does not seem like a big deal to xfer one way or the other, I guess we will just see how the morning of our transfer goes.

Take your valuables with you. Don't leave them in the checked luggage.
