If you're referring to the chocolate covered ice cream Mickey's, they are $2.50 I think. Also they only come in one flavor: vanilla ice cream covered in dark chocolate (like a frozen Dove ice cream bar). They are YUMMY!
I believe they are $2.50 also. PP is right they are vanilla with the chocolate. They are yummy!!!! I can't wait to get one. LOL You got me craving one.
diztone, you will love the Mickey bars! And you're smart to budget for them--those ice cream treats add up but I think they are worth every penny.
My two DS actually prefer some of the other ice cream stand treats to the Mickey bars--they love the Simba paw ice cream bars at AK, and also the frozen bananas. Mmmm....yum!
Mickey Bars are my dd's fave. She had so many when we were there last month that I lost count. On one really hot day she had at least 4. But she told me that it was worth every penny.
Jana49....I never knew there were Goofy bars with carmel in them. Where can I find those at? They sound yummy.
If you go to Animal Kingdom, they have a great children's meal deal at Pizzafari. We get a full-sized personal pizza, a bag of Lays potato chips and a small drink for $6. This, in itself is a great deal (the pizza is plenty big enough for an adult), but you also get two coupons with each meal. One is redeemable for an ice cream or popcorn (your choice) and the other is redeemable for a bottle of soda or water (your choice). We get two of these deals and share it amongst the 4 of us. Then, later in the day, we get our Mickey bars (mostly for the kids, but we help ) and bottles of Coke for me and DH.
I wanted to know too. I can't find them on any of the menus on deb's page. Where can you purchase them... the goofy ones too. I did see that most small items such as water and other ice cream were about $2.50 so had figured that into my budget. Of course my "budget" has expanded quite a bit since I started planning in December... funny how that happens.
I honestly don't know how much "real food" we will eat in the parks we might just eat ice cream all day!!! LOL. I couldn't decide if I wanted to try the orange or strawberry swirl or the Dole whip, I may get all three!!!!!
Can you suggest any other places in the other parks that have meals like this. That would help with the budget. We were planning on sharing meals, and the kids would still be able to get a dessert. Thanks again!!!!
AK is the only park with these deals. I believe the other AK counter restaurants have the same deal, but with different entrees. DS is a pizza fiend, however, so we always go to Pizzafari.
Bringing your own sandwiches and snacks (if you can make a grocery stop) really helps keep the food costs down.
I'm a newbie, never been to WDW but have done so much research I feel as if I've lived there my whole life!!! LOL! However, I do not know what a Mickey Stickey is. As for a Dole Whip they are a soft serve pineapple/vanilla swirl. The all ears site mentions a choc/vanilla and a pineapple/vanilla/choc (not sure about this one) as well so I'm assuming there are 3 different choices.
They can be purchased at Aloha Isle in Adventureland and are $2.59.
I can't wait to try one and by looking at my counter, I don't have to wait much longer! YEAH!!!!!! I'm so excited I could wet my pants! Ha Ha
We have breakfast in our rooms at the hotel. We take some snacks to help pass the time while waiting in line. We have icecream in the afternoon. Grandma likes to give it to the kids for lunch (Grandma's right I guess) We share something like chicken and fries in the afternoon and than we have a really good dinner. I find the character dinners are a good value. You get to have a good meal and you don't have to spend all day in line to see your favourite characters. It is only a little more than having something to eat at the other restaurants in the parks.
Then I make sure we have something that is "good" for you to eat at the hotel if the kids need something before they go to bed.
Does anyone happen to remember which particular stands carry the Mickey and Goofy bars? Does pretty much any ice cream vendor carry them, or can you only find them in certain areas of certain parks? I've never had one- and now I WANT ONE
The Mickey bars are everywhere. You'll run into a cart selling them on every path you take. Not sure if they sell the Goofy bars, too. I never noticed. DS always wants a Mickey bar, DH gets frozen bananas, and I like the Tollhouse ice cream sandwiches.
I have had the Mickey's before and they are good but........I have to try the Goofy one! The caramel sounds yummy. DS loves the ice cream but makes me eat the chocolate coating. Poor me
Thanks Maximom - the Dole Whips sound delicious, no wonder
I'm always reading about them - now I know what everyone's talking about!
Mickey Stickeys were sticky buns shaped like The Mouse, and we had them when we stayed in the Contemporary for our honeymoon 10 years ago. They were SO GOOD
There have been so many changes since then,
(not to mention the Internet),
that I've posted myself as a rookie.
My DH and I missed out on a whole lot because we just were not informed before we visited WDW.
