I use Fairy Godmothers all the time....It's $14 an hour plus a $12 transportation fee, for a total of $68 for 4 hours. Not cheap, but well worth it. Our sitters have brought toys, so DS is happy to play with them and doesn't even notice us leaving.
You can also check out kidsniteout.com. That's the Disney recommended company.
They are done through Fairy Godmothers, who is not owned by Disney but kind of sub-contracted out (so to speak). I don't know the cost of them and really that is the only thing I can tell you about in room.
There are kids clubs if your youngest is over 4? Maybe 5. They are at the Poly and AKL for sure. I think some other places have them but I can't remember where off the top of my head. Last year that was 10 per hour per child. I think there was a 4 hour minimum but I can't remember on that.
Thanks for the replys. Unfortunately our son is only 2 so he would not be able to do the kids club although I am sure he will when he hits 4! That sounds like it is a lot of fun to do.
Add that to one of the things they could add to SSR as well. A kids club type thing.

We've used both in room and kids club and have gotten great results. When we go we HAVE to put kids in for at least one night , THEY insist . They have such fun playing with the other kids they love it. With the in-room sitter she came with her own suitcase filled with toys books and other stuff , and it has been from the places already mentioned here in this thread.
Thanks again for the info. Since Connor is only 2 we would need to use an in room babysitter but I bet he would have a blast at a kids club when he is old enough!
it was a couple of years ago but the price was the same $14/per hour the transportation fee might have been a few dollars less then. It worked well for us. The woman who came to our room was on time and had a bag of stuff - I don't remember it as anything big but it's different stuff than we had in the room already!
My youngest is now old enough for the clubs but the part I like about a night out is that they get a night in and are in bed when we get home. Otherwise, I feel like we'd sort of be compelled to hurry back to pick-up DSs and then still have to get them to bed. Although I'm sure they would have a nice time at the club...
In any case, the lady was prompt and friendly and the kids seemed to have a nice time -- I know we did!
We used Fairy Godmothers, loved them. All are background checked and referenced, etc. Our sitter was a CM at Animal Kingdom by day. She may have brought toys, but our kids were pretty much going to bed when she arrived so we didn't bother. The nice thing about getting a sitter rather than the kids clubs is the kids are getting to bed at a decent hour. At the kids clubs they don't really go to bed, they mostly stay up until you get there.
I thought about that as I was driving into work today. It would be nice to have the kids in bed when you get back. Like a previous poster, I would feel like I had to rush to get back and get him and put him to bed.
