Can anyone tell me roughly how much more the dining pkg was for a family of four? 2adultsand 2kids? I could not get an actual price quote from Disney.com and I'm trying to budget and maybe interested. And for the Hoopdeedoo do you have to buy extra tickets or just the two table service meals? Do the Character meals count as a table service? Thanks Kat Oh we are looking at 10 days

The adults are like $38 per day per adult...the kids I think are $24 per day per kid.

Hope this helps!

I think we were charged 37.99 per adult per night and 10.99 per kid per night. (before tax) so

Yes thats true. If you book a package thru AAA you can get a room discount as well. We got about 15% off (POFQ next November). Tickets, room, and with dining...Cant wait.

If you like to eat, this is a great plan. We checked the prices at our counter service meals which we used for lunch and they were running $10-12 per person. If you figure the package is $38, then take off $3 for a snack and $11 for counter service lunch, you're at $24 for table service dinner. Most entrees we saw were at least $16, then add tax and tip to that. (Le Cellier's steak was $21 at lunch and the Rose and Crown fish/chips was $16 at dinner) So you just have to decide how much food you want to see if this is worth it.

If you want table service for lunch or breakfast, you can do that, too. We just didn't.

Make your ADR's!! They were turning walk-up people away just about every where we went for dinner last week.

We used our AAA agent and she did great with our package via email.

Also, you must pay rack rate for the room - no discounts.
?? Not me. We went in November and pd full price for dining, full price for tickets, and got a discount on the room. :confused3 This was all purchased as a pkg, then later got a discount when the general code was released.

Nope, this was true for the free dining promotion back in Sept/Oct *only.* You can get a AAA discount on the room portion of the package and still get dining. There may be other room discounts available also,.

Can I get AP discount with the package? I know I will have to book 60 days in advance.

Say, if I have an AP, book a room, purchase the ticket and dinning, can I apply the AP discount to my room?

Sorry fac you can't do both. One or the other. For us it still makes sense to get the AP discount on the room and use the DDE card.

But this "may" be changing. I know dining will be coming available for DVCers soon. AP holders may soon follow.

The rates for 2005 were $35 per day for adults, $10 per day for kids. In 2006 it goes up to about $38 per day for adults and $12 per day for kids. You must purchase the plan for everyone in your room, and the number of "days" of dining is equal to the number of NIGHTS you have booked. You have until midnight on your departure day to use any remaining credits. We booked a package through AAA - room, park passes, and dining plan. We got a discount on the room portion of the package - 15%, I think. But that only works if you book your package through AAA. I don't think you may apply the AAA room discount to a package booked through Disney if you want the Dining Plan.

I think we saved about $200 in October using the plan (2 adults, 1 child), and we didn't eat at the most expensive places. I think I figured it up and we would have come out even just eating buffets for every TS. Character meals are 1 TS credit. We did one signature meal which we didn't feel was worth it AT ALL. The bill was just a little higher than our bill at some of the single credit places, and the food wasn't as good! I think if you are doing HDDR it would make more sense to pay out of pocket and use your credits elsewhere, unless your family doesn't do a lot of TS dining.

We really liked the dining plan! Can't wait to go back in August! :)

Actually, kids are 10.99 in 2006, got it from mousesavers:

The additional cost is $37.99 per night per adult or junior (ages 10-17), $10.99 per night for children (ages 3-9).

For the Hoop-Dee-Do, you'd use two credits per person. There's no extra ticket cost. Character meals are usually one table service credit. :)

Cool! Thanx

We went in October and paid 35 per adult and around 10 per child, per night of our stay. I will not go back to DW without the dining plan. We are hooked. It's awesome. Have a great time. :)
