Cost of booking dining?

I've never booked a dining reservation, and I don't have DDP....but just curious, when you book, do you have to pay for everyone up front?

And, do I book online or through a phone number? I'd like to book Coral Reef at Epcot for lunch..

I'd like to do Chef Mickeys too... but if I have to pay up front for the whole party (8 people) I'll do Coral Reef first

CRT requires payment up front. Most other restaurants do not. You need to call Disney Dining. They can explain all of the details to you. (407) WDW-DINE. They change things so often it's hard to keep up!

They might ask for a credit card for Cinderella's, but just to hold. I don't think any restaurant makes you pay up front. Enjoy your trip. Book early for Chef Mickey's.

CRT and the dinner shows you have to pay up front in full if not on the DDP. A few others require a credit card to hold the res, most others dont require anything
