Cost of an Inground Pool

We installed a 16' x 38' vinyl pool in Nov 2008. Because it was end of season, the price was $28,800 for a no frills pool. The only upgrade we did was two deck jets (water features).

We (sweat equity) have spent about another $5,000 on fencing and landscaping and we still are not finished.

I should add I already have an inground pool that came with the house so its already on my tax bill etc. It is wood walled and needs replacing. I understand that replacing it isn't any cheaper than installing it new. My 3 sons are real water rats and one of my DS is on the ASD and he really loves to swim its his Happy Place. :fish:

Yikes, that will probably add to the cost. Get a few estimates, it is the only way to know.:thumbsup2

Wow - I'm glad we put our pool in 13 years ago!

I think (with the fencing and patio/pool walkway) about $30,000. That's with the diving board, extra wide steps, jets, light etc. Seems like they definitely went up in price!

My pool was put in over 20 years ago. The pool itself was around 20,000 then. There was a lot of landscaping and a long retaining wall(100 ft x 3 ft) that also had to be done to get the pool on level ground. Also a couple of french drains to make sure the property drained away from the pool during a bad storm.

Because they will charge you for the tear out. The pool cost is set whether they dig or not I would think. You really need to get some estimates to find out.

I agree. My friend had to tear out her pool and put in a new one 2 years ago and it cost around $50K if I remember correctly.

Back in 1995 our heated 16x32 inground cost us about $28,000 after we finished up with the landscaping, retaining wall, fence & gazebo. Glad we got it then.

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to get the $$ together. I get a couple of bonus checks in a few months and was hoping they would be enough. Sounds like not and I'll just have to save more. Isn't that the way it always is :headache:
