I’m looking at flights for November and there is not much seating left. They have preferred and comfort seats available. I have been searching for how much preferred cost, but cannot find anything.

I think there are a few exceptions but generally you cannot purchase a preferred main cabin seat. Preferred main cabin seats are not upsold or upgradeable like Comfort+ but rather are reserved for those who are paying full coach fares (Okay, I guess you can purchase it) or those that have Medallion status.

Also, sometimes Comfort+ is a lot cheaper to purchase later on. On our next trip to WDW, it was $250 roundtrip in main cabin or listed as $350 for Comfort+. Well, after we booked -- Comfort+ was only an extra $40 roundtrip so I did it. Granted, it's just a 1 hour flight.

The costs are on the Delta website. Put in your airports and dates and the next page will show costs for each option.

Last month a friend of mine had a basic economy fare and was upset that she couldn’t get seats assigned at 24 hour checkin, she had 7 people. They told her to ask at the gate. They all got Comfort+.

I seen the cost of comfort on the website, but not preferred.
Sorry about that. You need to go to "Select Seats" you'll see available preferred seats. Click on it and you'll see the cost.

I just did it for my LAX>MCO flight and they range from $75 to $135. They are the seats with the little white mark on the corner.

Thank you! Yes I seen the little white marks. I was hoping they were cheaper .

I just looked for my october flights. MCO-ATL was $15 for a preferred seat or $20 for C+. ATL-ATW was $5 for a preferred and $10 for C+.

As stated the preferred seats are for those with Medallion status or an extra cost. As they upgrade those in regular economy who have status, more of the regular economy seats will be available for you to book. I had to call Delta to ask a few questions about bringing a wheelchair (and to note it on the reservation) and the agent actually went ahead and moved us to some preferred seats so my Mom would be closer to the front of the plane and not have to walk as far. Not requested but they offered, so some may be taken that way too.
