Does anyone know how much it costs to have housekeeping come everyday?
thanks

It varies by the size of your unit. From the DVC Member website:

Full Cleaning Service
For stays of eight or more nights, Full Cleaning Service is provided on day four and Trash & Towel Service is provided on day eight. After that, the cycle begins again on day 12, regardless of whether you're using Member-discounted cash, Vacation Points or a combination of both.

With Full Cleaning service, Housekeeping will provide everything included with the Trash & Towel Service, plus:

Change the bed linens.
Vacuum and dust the Vacation Home.
Clean the bathroom(s).
Clean the kitchen/kitchenette and wash the dishes.

Pay As You Play
With Pay As You Play service, you'll be provided with the following amenities free of charge at the start of your stay. After that, you may purchase more for the following fees:

Toiletries Package, $5.00 - 1 facial soap, 1 bath soap, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 shower gel
Coffee Package, $3.00 - 1 package of coffee, 8 sugars, 8 creamers, 8 artificial sweeteners
Towel Package, $6.00 - 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 4 washcloths, 1 bath mat
Laundry Detergent (only in One-, Two-, and Three-bedroom Vacation Homes), $1.00 - 1 box

Additional Full Cleaning Rates:
Studio/Inn Room - $30.00 per day requested
One-Bedroom - $45.00 per day requested
Two-Bedroom - $60.00 per day requested
Three-Bedroom - $75.00 per day requested

Additional Trash & Towel Rates:
Studio/Inn Room - $15.00 per day requested
One-Bedroom - $20.00 per day requested
Two-Bedroom - $25.00 per day requested
Three-Bedroom - $35.00 per day requested

Note: Rates are subject to change

How many towels, hand towels & washcloths do you get in a 2 bedroom at check-in?

Usually 8 bath towels, 4 hand towels, 8 wash cloths. If you are in the two bedroom units at AKV Kidani, BLT or Treehouses, you should receive 9 Bath Towels and Washcloths, as those units have sleeping areas for 9 people.

maybe a dumb question.... but what does "Trash and Towel Service" include?
how many towels? same as pay and you play?
so it would cost $9 to take out trash??

With Trash & Towel service, Housekeeping will:

•Empty trash and replace liners in trash bins.
•Provide fresh bathroom linens.
•Replace shampoo, facial soap and bath soap.
•Replenish facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper.
•Replenish coffee, sugar, cream and sweeteners.
•Replenish dishwashing liquid, dishwashing detergent, sponges and laundry detergent as needed in one-, two- and three-bedroom Vacation Homes.

Are there dumpsters somewhere at most of the hotels we willl be at VGC but visiting WDW of course. Just cant see 4 days of diapers sitting around our room - ick.

Worldmark has a free towel exchange program that was really nice. I dont mind the $6.00 but would prefer new towels more then every 4 days.

All the DVC resorts have "trash rooms".

If we pay for towels, will they take the dirty ones when they bring them?
Or should we leave them somewhere?

thanks so much for the information!!! it's a huge help!

The housekeepers enter your villa, remove the soiled towels and replace them with fresh towels. And provide the other services that DebbieB listed.

For the hotel style resorts, there is a trash room on every floor, centrally located. For the community style resorts, there usually is at least one trash room for each building.

I think her question is if they pay the $6 for towels, do they just drop them off at the door? I assume they don't hang them. Do they take the dirty ones? I've never ordered towels so I'm not sure.

I would guess for the $6 towel packs, they simply knock on your door and hand them to you, and don't take the other towels away until the scheduled service day, but they may take them if you ask them to do so.

We are still pondering the vacation club purchase. It sounds like the towel and housekeeping service can get expensive. After I add on towel service for a family of four wouldn't it just be cheaper to pay regular hotel rates at one of the resorts?

Do you usually use fresh towels daily at home, or hang them to dry? If the latter, you can do the same at DVC, hang them back up on the towel racks to dry and re-use.

If you have a one bedroom or larger unit, you can throw them in the washer when you leave in the morning, and dry them when you return.

The trash & towel service is $15 for 4 sets in a studio, not per person. Or $6 for the towels alone.

In almost 10 years of DVC, I have never paid for any extra housekeeping or towels. Granted, most of my stays were in 1 bedrooms with a washer & dryer but I only usually did 1 or 2 loads per trip. Don't need a fresh towel everyday.

Well, towel service is only $6 a day, so that's not going to add much to the cost of your vacation.

Very few members get the additional housekeeping services, I think. When I first looked into buying DVC, I was kind of turned off by not getting daily housekeeping.

Then I thought...hm....I really hate having the housekeeper trying to get in the room if I want to sleep in, or am having a nap in the afternoon. And it's not like I vacuum or scrub the bathroom every day at home, so why do I need it in a hotel room? If all I have to do is pull the bed together in the morning, and maybe take out the trash, that's fine with me. I've owned for 8 years and have never paid for extra housekeeping. Don't miss it one bit. Don't want it, in fact.

Towels aren't an issue; I re-use them at home and on vacation. If you have a 1-bedroom or larger villa (and you're going to want at least a 1 BR with a family of four), you'll have a washer and dryer, so that's easy to take care of if you want fresh towels every day and don't want to get the towel pack .

Looking back at this thread... you all have to remember how ECO-FRIENDLY us DVCers are being compared to our hotel compatriots, too! We don't need freshly laundered towels and sheets and pillowcases every day like those wasteful hoards at the hotels. All of those gallons of water and kilowatts of electricity SAVED by us diligent, sacrificial, concientious owners. ;-)

We plan on purchasing the towel package on our first trip home. After staying on a friends points we felt that the amount of towels just wasn't enough at we tended to shower to start the day and after being out in the heat and humidity wanted a shower to end our day. With 2 showers per day we were always using wet towels. Now we know we can shower and dry with dry towels for only $6 we feel it is well worth it.
