Cost Comparison

For me, it wouldn't be so much the hours hunting for a good deal, but instead if I were missing the opportunity to use points for a trip instead of cash.

My last trip room cost would have been about 6 grand. So it might be worth direct instead of hunting down a deal if I could have the points right away.

well right now if you want AKL they are giving 20 bonus points for 100 bought. so that could effect this math if you need the points super fast.

It may seem like you are getting free points and Disney may tell you that but nothing is free. They have adjusted the price to cover the cost of the points and I'm guessing that in the closing docs there will be a credit to cover the additional point cost.

That's not saying that this isn't the worst deal or the best.

obv its a scam Disney needs to make as much money as they can. the old raise the discount trick a salesman's oldest trick. i guess we would need the price history of AKL direct to see if its a deal or not.

We found the only part we had to wait on was more the owners on the other side (they took a bit to sign back everything which was odd!?), then obviously Disney ROFR. Over all since we weren't planning a trip until a few months after the waiting period for our closing (or the expected waiting period) saving the money was far more important to us! No, I didn't take my time into account, it's really not that big of a deal for us.

I agree with others though, if you want to plan a vacation and leave asap and money isn't as much an issue than direct is maybe the right way for you! It's really a personal choice, along with a financial one for some!
