I have heard quite a few good things about Cosmic Ray's in MK. I looked at other QS places and none seemed to have as many options like Cosmic Ray's.

What is the atmosphere at Cosmic Rays?

CR is a large place and has three different ordering areas. Each area has a different type of food - salads and sandwiches; hot dogs and hamburgers; chicken, etc. There's lots of seating in it - the main area has entertainment by ways of an animated singer (whose name I'm blanking on right now - maybe Sonny Eclipse?). We usually sit in the back of the restaurant (usually less crowded). You can also eat outside. We usually eat there once or twice each trip. They have a fixins bar with lots of condiments. They have a chicken & ribs combo that is a really good value (it comes with mashed potatoes and a vegetable which dd loves). We've never had any complaints about CR.

We're thinking of trying cosmic ray's in May. The chicken & ribs combo looks big enough for 3 to share. Especially if we want to leave room for some yummie disney treats!

My first position as a Cast Member at Disney was in Cosmic Rays. You'll love it. It has 3 Menu sides to choose from. and there is 1,142 seats. (I know this cause I stacked them every night.) Great place to each lunch or dinner, also if you can get a seat near Sonny he will entertain you for your entire eating experience.

Thanks for this link. That helps.

Our first time and Cosmic Rays is definately on the list for lunch!!
I hope so, because like I said, it is really a cool place to eat. If you have a big family or even a small one, everyone can choose what they want. The portitions are large enough for two people to eat.

*** NOTE *** please, please, for the Castmembers sakes, please dont eat the chicken and throw the bones on the floors.

this place has the best chicken ceasar salad around......so much chicken in that thing that I was full before I got to the end......I do miss their steak and cheese subs that they stopped serving a few years back......that was always my hubbies favorite.....

I would agree with what the other posters said...this is a god choice if you are in this area of the park. I tried the rib/chicken combo plate this Aug. with free dining....yea, waaaaaayyy too much food! A must share for 2-3 people! The dessert choices aren't good there, but there are few quick services that have good ones.

Our fav place at MK is Pecos Bills....best burger bar, I(our)HO! Plus, a lot of seats in the AC and out of the rain. Seems like once a trip we sneak in there during a down pour.....and eerily, at meal times!

When we eat here we prefer the outdoor seating on the balcony overlooking the castle.

Not our first choice to eat....last 2 out of 3 times we went only one of the stations was open so it was burgers for everyone :confused3 I missed my salad.

Cosmic Rays is a great place. I love the fixin's bar for burgers. The chicken and ribs combo is big. We always split one between the two of us.

My only complaint about the place is the way the service area is set up. They have a really diverse menu, but that's a little deceiving. You can only order certain things at certain counters. So, if your group wants stuff from each area, you have to wait in three lines.

We go every trip and always sit in the "Starlight Room" so we can listen to Sonny Eclipse!

We always get food from here but then go grab a bench near the castle & enjoy our meal. Chicken strips are awesome.

good quality food for a CS location:idea:
3 seperate menus to choose from:goodvibes
ample indoor seating (A/C is jacked up):santa:
entertaining for the kiddos:woohoo:

How does 3 lines work with DDP?

As far as I know, you'll have to choose from 1 window (menu) per credit ( entree drink and dessert) drinks and desserts may be similar from one window to the next, so order from where the entree looks good (like if you want the chx & ribs, for instance)

Cosmic Ray's is great and has a lot of choices, but it is missing one thing: pizza! So if you have a fussy child (or adult *ahem*) in your party who must have pizza and nothing else, you can get pizza at Pinocchio Village Haus in Fantasyland and bring it on over to Cosmic Ray's to eat with the rest of the group. Yes, I've carried my tray of pizza thru Fantasyland to Cosmic Ray's so that I could eat with the rest of my family.

Are the other windows only open at certain times of the year? I only remember the burger one as being open on our trips. October/November.
